    Re: Food Stamps

Need to start drug testing if you cant pass u cant have none too much free shit around here thats the problem working the system and sucking the working man dry.Oh Yeah Keep working millions on welfare depend on you!

    Re: Food Stamps

If the state/federal government subsidizes your income (besides disability) you should work for the state/federal government; building roads, public works, garbage pickup.... manual labor

Unemployment needs to be overhauled as well so you can't sit on it for a year with little to no effort.

The free ride needs to stop. The American working class can't continue to carry the burden of the lazy. Especially when the lazy have the same voting rights. We are fighting a losing battle. Attrition is not in our favor....

    /rant off

Sorry bout that, get a little worked up when I think about what our country is doing to itself.

The prices seem reasonable, besides just because your poor and need assistance shouldn't mean you can't eat well. Just kidding.

They should have a state store to buy food and all the food should be generic brand foods. Also, they should put up a list of names for people who have been on foods stamps longer than a year in the store. It's okay to get help when one needs it, but it's not okay to take advantage of ones generosity.

If I were to guess this is probably a card surrendered in place of some liquor or cash.

I knew guys in college that would trade .10 to the dollar in stamps just so the owner could by booze.

I would like to see a law requiring EBT cards/welfare checks/"gumbment" assistance to be finger print recognized.

    1) only the person whose fingerprint is on the card could use it, therefore stopping people from selling them for $.10 on the dollar. Thumb print reader at checkouts.

    2) criminals would either stop applying for the cards so they can't get caught for their crimes, or we can catch more criminals when they do apply.

    3) would keep jack asses from cashing/receiving aid from dead relatives.

And we could actually push/promote this idea as a benefit, and not a hindrance, to the card holder pointing out the fact that it keeps their money free from theft.

I have a better idea. Cut the food stamp program off. If they want to eat they can sell their plasma tv and cut off their cable. They will still have a free cell phone to babel on and play games, a hud house with free AC and social services will provide them with a car and gas so they can ride day babies to the doctor and get free health care.

I think we should cut all that crap out and let them learn the long lost art of building mud huts.

    Re: Food Stamps

Pisses me off when I see crap like that in the store. Nice clothes, new Nikes on, buying food with the food stamp debit card, then beer and smokes with cash. I should just take something out, and tell him that's my money he's using to pay for his stuff.

    Re: Food Stamps

There is a local guy that is roughly my age (25), appears able bodied, and able minded. However he is also open about being on disability, unemployment, AND food stamps. No remorse whatsoever just lazy and complains about his "migraines" and "back pain".

If that isn't enough he shows up at the 150yd range with a brand spanking new Savage 110BA and 50rds of Hornady ammo. And that's it. No scope. And proceeds to "sight it in" at 100 without any sights whatsoever. Wasting 35 rds.

So not only am I paying for this asshat to watch cable, surf the internet, and sit in AC, but I'm also paying for him to own a rifle nicer than a lot of decent hardworking people will never be able to afford. Pisses me off to no end!

    Re: Food Stamps

lets make it worse...some offenders take the seafood out of the front door and then bring it back inside saying it smells funny. Store cant provide credit on an EBT card so they have to give a cash refund. Recipient then takes cash and buys beer. since seafood left the premises..it has to be thrown away...talk about screwing the store owner and the working public who support these @#$%^

    Re: Food Stamps

<--Thinking of all the ammo and gun money I could free up if I went on food-stamps/etc.

I heard that so many people are on the dole that they don't even check your application against your IRS numbers.

    Re: Food Stamps

All this welfare crap needs to go back to the county, or lower, level of govt where at least there is more control. IE you can see who's deserving and who's not. Subsidiarity is the word.
It ain't gonna happen though as these are votes for you know who.

It doesn't matter if its you know who or you know what gets the vote the welfare checks will continue. There is nothing you can do about it but get mad.

If it were administered at the local level, like it used to be many moons ago, the local taxpayers would have control and could see where all the money went. Now it's all hidden in the giant federal bureacracy under the Food Stamp Bill, I mean Farm Bill.

And there's no shame in it any more.

Exactly. Now you just run it though the machine like any other credit card so no one is the wiser.

    Re: Food Stamps

My nieces husband just got Social Security with "back-pay" for the last several years. His disability...he gets stressed out going to work! No Shit, can you imagine work stresses you out so you get SS at age 30+? And he's healthy as a horse but spends his time and money drinking and smoking all day...and loves Obama, Go figure!

    Re: Food Stamps

I am all for helping those in need, but am totally opposed to perpetuating sloth. I have some pride because I have worked and produced. Some never have that satisfaction and are scared to attempt it.

    Re: Food Stamps

Its a bitch. I worked my whole life and a guy I know who never worked a day is now on disability and gets more than my SS. Whats wrong with that picture?

    Re: Food Stamps

    Worked hard all my life.
Served 2 tours in Viet Nam.
No medical or crap from the VA.
Got fired from my last job.
Took early retirement at 62 from SSA drawing a little better than $1500 per month.
Tried to get another job, but at this point in my life, all the HR person sees on the job ap is MASSIVE CORONARY = CATASTROPHIC HEALTH COVERAGE IF HIRED!!!

Got a part time job with a company that sells wood working equipment and now making $2000/month with contract jobs pluss the $9/hr they pay me on 16 hours per week.

I'm sure CZAR Obama will try to take that away from me. It is free enterprise, isn't it???

I get to go shoot a lot.

    Life is good.

That's why SS is a mandate. Who would opt in to a retirement plan with benefits that are not in any way related to your contribution?
