If you haven't seen this film, do!

Many parallels can be drawn to today.

Definitely stay for the credits where they show pictures of the real men portrayed in the film.

Re: For Greater Glory

I look forward to seeing this film Cav. I did a little googlage to learn what the Cristero's war was about; It was muy misterioso! So many Mexican squabbles, it's hard to keep track.

Very interesting story and it surprised me to learn the degree of governmental hostility toward Catholicism exists in Mexico even to this day.

Eh...I don't care much about religious conflicts.

Re: For Greater Glory

It wasn't a religious conflict, it was conflict with religion because of an oppressive socialist style regime. Even more so, it was the resistance of the population of Mexico, who were devoted Catholics, to egregious violations of all human morality and dignity. More importantly, it was the outright denial of basic human rights and a fierce retaliation when the people stood up for those rights.

It's shaping up to happen again.

Re: For Greater Glory

Meh, gotta disagree with you there. I can understand how the most devout followers of a religion based on an act of martyrdom can have a persecution complex, but to use this to draw parallels with society today is a bit looney, in my personal opinion. No worries, you can have yours and I can have mine.

Re: For Greater Glory

Do you not watch the news? Kept up with HHS mandate lately? Calles' rhetoric was basically what I imagine coming out of O's mouth in his 3rd term if not sooner.

Dude, you're smarter than relativism, come on. We can't both be right.

Either way, great movie. I recommend seeing it.

Re: For Greater Glory

I dont go out to many movies, too expensive these days. Think Ill make an exception for this one. Always have loved the Mexican people. What he said at 1:10 of the trailer sums it all up ..."I believe in Freedom.". Its not about religon, its about Freedom.

On subjective opinions, yes we can.
