Movie Theater For Queen and Country

Recently caught this movie from 1988 featuring Denzel Washington as a British Para.

Very well done movie... One of the first (maybe the first) in which Denzel Washington had the lead.

Definitely worth a watch.

And a very tragic police sniper scene...

Denzel Washington played the role (the accent in particular) brilliantly.

Denzel's just always been a very talented actor. From this movie I believe he went on to do The Mighty Quinn and then he became a mainstream actor with his role in The Rookie (a terrible movie).

The story of Queen and Country is tragic in that the context was true. Thatcher's govt made people who had served go through a 'citizenship' application process and the racism portrayed by the police was absolutely true.

I grew up in the UK and that film was very true to life.
