Any guys here have a spare Ford X plan number for a fellow shooter?
I sure could use some help on a new truck purchase.
Thanks for any assistance.
PM best way to reach me.

Thanks again,
Doug S

Re: Ford X plan

I once mentioned to a dealer that I would be using a Ford X plan to purchase an 04 F150 and instead of all the paperwork, he decided to give me a roughly same deal. I had a right to use it legitimately through a company I used to work for.

I ain't saying you should deliberately go out and out shiesse the shiessesters because everyone knows how honest those salesen are but it wouldn't hurt to mention it to a dealer.

Re: Ford X plan

I had to provide proof of employment along with the an email sent from Ford declaring X plan eligibility to get the discount. The email was also only good for a week or so if I rmemeber correctly.

Re: Ford X plan

Ford employee's have been know to loose their own discount plan privileges for helping non eligable people by on the different plans. My Dad used to work for Ford it happens a lot more than you may believe, Ford does check this stuff.

Funny, but I don't see anything in them about loaning out plan numbers. </div></div>

If I had been trolling for you I would have used the appropriate bait. Half my wife's family drives or has driven Fords because of the benefits of the plan, and yes, they do check.

Just so we're clear - I don't think this is a matter of anyone doing a "tsk tsk", but rather a very simple and real issue of the fact that the dealer is supposed to verify the eligibility of someone attempting to utilize a X-plan PIN. Some dealers have gotten pretty strict about this.

X-plan pricing is something like 0.4% under invoice, so those who are ineligible can still get very close simply through some basic negotiation (unless they are shopping for a highly-popular model, in which case it may be difficult to dicker down to the invoice price).
