Got an email from the ATF saying that my model wasn't correct on the form1. I'm not sure I remember seeing APC9k in their drop down box when filling out the form. Says they are refunding my $ and to contact them if I have further questions. Pretty sure I have to do the process all over again? Should I even call them or just start the process over again?

So you should know the drop downs are populated by every entry someone types in and not by ATF so there are lots of wrong answers... been down this road. The one that is exactly the same as what is on the receiver of the firearm is nearly always the right one. I mean exactly, syntax counts. The cases where this has happened to me I refiled same day using above info and within 24 hours got approval and refund in 1-2 months on declined form

They will just tell you that there is nothing they can do, as there is no resubmit functionality in the efile software. Correct the mistake and refile.
Do I have to resubmit the cover letter + fingerprints or can I just quickly refile? I plan to refile when I get home in an hour, got the rejection email about 8hrs ago.

If it's been denied then you have to do it all over. I forgot to sign my freaking form at the bottom and they denied it, instead of just sending me an email to sign it and upload it.... I've heard of some examiners keeping it pending and letting an oversight be corrected, but once it's actually "denied" , it's all over and there is no mechanism to fix it. You have to fully re-do it all.

Manually type in the make and model. No dropdown list. I learned this lesson too. Luckily the examiner let me refile within 5 business days and it was approved instantly.

I don't have direct contact with the examiner unless I glanced over and didn't see their contact info. Did you get ahold of your examiner and ask or how did that go?

I ordered another set of prints from SS so if I have to ill redo the process.

I was doing a 20 ga. Mossberg SBS last year, used their pull down item for 590 Shockwave model, which it was, and got a denial as to incorrect model #. The receiver does not say "Shockwave" only "590", so lesson learned. Start the process all over again. The pain is having to get another set of finger prints. Now when I get prints, I get them in 4-5 sets at a time for just such commotion.

The year before I submitted a .410 Shockwave SBS , typed in "shockwave" as the pull down menu did not yet exist....Approved!

Since I manually use the same text on the receiver as in the submitted photo.

I emailed the examiner and yes I got confirmation that I need to start over. Is a PITA as I have to spend the money and time getting new prints, doing the paperwork again and mailing out the prints and cover letter. Not surprised though since this is our tax dollars at work.

I've only had one examiner kind enough to contact me and NOT cancel the form 1 but that was a paper form prior to efile, all over a couple of entries on the fingerprint form. She called on the phone, left a message and fixed the issue when I returned the call and profusely apologized and thanked her. Not going to happen most likely in todays ATF.

So I refiled and fucked up again, under manufacturer I was supposed to put "B&T USA LLC" not "BRUGGER AND THOMET", this is why I couldn't find my exact model as the apc9k probably doesn't exist in Europe. Pretty fucking annoying ATF.
So I'd like to stop my eForm1 asap if possible as I'm sure they won't let me fix it.
I take it I just have to wait for them to deny my 2nd attempt at their leisure and then refile again for 3rd times a charm?
I mailed off my prints today and they won't get to ATF till Wednesday at the earliest.

So today I got my denial as I was expecting but for a different reason. Said my application was denied due to " PHOTO DID NOT SHOW UP ON SUBMITTED COPY OF EFORM 1. REFUND IN PROGRESS."
My photo is showing up on page 2 so I'm not sure what's going on onmtheir end. When I printed all the pages out my photo was also on the copy as well.
I was expecting a denial due to incorrect model # again (know what I did wrong finally)
So I called ATF and they showed me how to log into my account and "ASK AN EXPERT" what the deal was with my denial.

Anyone ever have their photo not show up? I'm hoping this situation can be rectified quickly but definitely not expecting that to happen and am actually planning to re-file in a few days.

Yes. Sometime between my successful completion of the application with photos etc. the BATFE website had some kind of "upgrade" which resulted in widespread corruption of file uploads that caught me up in their dragnet of misery. Had to resubmit, despite me demonstrating to "The Experts" where my eForm application showed a photo had been uploaded.

I'm waiting to hear back from them on the matter, most likely end up redoing it because they should have caught the same mistake again. Appreciate the insight though that could be what happened to me as well.

You sir have some shitty luck…
Not exactly, I know what I did wrong the first and 2nd time and know what to do to correct it the 3rd time. The reason for denial this 2nd time is partly wrong, ATF should have actually put the same exact denial reason as the 1st time but they said their was no picture attached which clearly their is. This is just taking longer than it should for sure, 3rd times a charm? Lol
