Foundation Stock & Action Compatibility

I'd contact Foundation directly. I asked them awhile back if Vudoo would fit in a Foundation inletted for an Impact. The answer was no... but they did say one could be inletted differently if they knew it had to fit both.

Thanks! I did today and it being a Saturday and holiday weekend I guess I will hear back on Tuesday or so. All good and understand. That’s what I heard 2. Hoping that it would for the same for an impact/RimX.

Did you ever get an answer on this? Looking to do the same thing.

Sorry I should have responded to close this out….

First thing John Kyle responded that day and talked through this with me. Which is awesome! Shows how much they are good people and have a great product.

Unfortunately the RimX action wouldn’t fit in an Impact action stock. Since I am left handed I went for it and ordered the impact foundation. I tested it and the RimX didn’t fit. I ended up with the help of JK getting a RimX one as well.

I spoke to Foundation and they said they could relieve the stock to fit both for $100. I have a dark distressed Impact and on the waiting list for the Black Foundation Genesis.

I’ve decided to just get the RimX in Black and keep the Dark Distressed on the Impact.

For what it’s worth, after coming across this thread, I began looking for and missed out on a couple foundation stocks inletted for both Rimx and impact 737 in the market place. being too impatient to wait for a new foundation build, I decided to buy an in-stock Impact 737r foundation MG2 from bullet central during the Easter sale and make my RimX fit. Turns out it was pretty simple.

First off the RimX dropped right in the inletting, the only interference was the rear swept bolt handle, which I expected.

I used a steady hand and a Dremel with a carbide cutting bit to slowly open up the notch for the bolt.

I slowly worked on the rear edge of the notch, frequently checking the clearance with the bolt knob. This is the result.

After it was fitted i used some 600grit sandpaper to smooth it out just a tad. Then used the ghetto method of a few rounds of applying black sharpie immediately followed by smearing it while it was still wet. I think it turned out great, matching the dark distressed color and took lest than 30min to do the whole job.
