Free float

Might be a dumb question but can you have too much free float? I'm talking like the thickness of a postcard

Just to lend some context.

The question was "Can I have too much free float?" Your answer was "Yes." twice, so you're doubling down on being wrong, and think I'm the idiot? Amazing!
The correct answer, OP, is No.
If you actually read the whole thing he made it clear the guy would be fine. It may be tough for you to get but he makes it clear the guy was ok.

I actually didn’t say I think you're an idiot. Heck I don't think I'm better than anyone.

The question was "can I have too much free float" like you say. We know that free float is clearance around the barrel or between the barrel and stock, handguard, etc. Because "too much is an opinion" we need to find out what is too much for the OP because too much for him can be just enough for others. He mentioned "like the thickness of a postcard" to infer what too much happens to be for him.

So then the question can be read as can you have the thickness of a postcard of clearance around the barrel?

Although actually though, I may be starting to think otherwise on my first statement now. 😂😂😂😂

And if you truly thought you knew more than others, or others had interpreted the question wrong while you were right, etc, you could have answered or explained your response. You still haven't responded to the actual question with an explanation. 🤣🤣

The question was worded poorly.

No you can't have to much space between the barrel and the forend. Once it's not touching it doesn't matter if it's 10' away from the forend, as long as the action is well supported.

You can have to little space to the effect of it flexes and makes contact when your shooting

That’s really grasping. The answer is no, you can’t have too much. The thickness of a playing card may not even be enough.

Well thats what I meant by "too much" being an opinion. You're saying the thickness of a playing card may not be enough while the op says the the thickness of a postcard to infer what too much is for him. See how "too much" could be different for many people. I'm answering the OPs question and in his question he's asking about postcard thickness.

You can absolutely have that, many rifles are built with about as much clearance and are fine. So long as the barrel does not make contact, it is going to be fine.

Not enough, is not subjective. If your barrel whip results in contact with your forend, you do not have enough. Too much isn’t a thing.
