So I just got my hands on this really really cool rifle in France and bought it and I thought I'd share it with you guys before I send it to auction.
Not the best picture but a very interesting piece of kit and French Small arms development history.
This rifle is a variant of the HAENEL RS8 which was made in 2010 in cooperation with the French Ministry of Defence
At that time the French Army was looking for a successor to the FRF2, it was looking for a weapon with characteristics close to the FRF2.
Thus HAENEL developed this variant with thermal shaft and adjustable and orientable pendulum bipod.
the gun has a folding front sight.
Its an Original Bipod developped by Haenel just for this rifle, really cool design that has similar ergonomics as the FRF2 Bipod.
the stock is folding and adjustable in length, the comb is also adjustable
the specific scope mount comes with the weapon
the Army having subsequently decided to move towards a semi-automatic rifle ( SCARH20) , the project went no further but it is still a really cool piece of firearm development history.
There were 3 copies made and this is the only one that ended up in civilian hands
