Re: front sight on flattop ar can be seen in my scope

I am assuming it is built into the gasblock. If so, then cutting it off would be one option, though I don;t think I would go that way. You may be able to install a new flat top gasblock, I don't know about the HBAR.

Also, look and see if the front sight post is actually dovetailed in with a setscrew. If so, then you can remove the sightpost without cutting it off.

My M1a front sight sits at the very bottom of my sight picture as a blurry blob, after I got used to it, It doesn't bother me...much... I have no plans to remove it though, because I can still use BUIS through the mount if something happened to the scope.

Either cut down your existing FSB or find a gas block that fits your heavy barrel. I believe the diameter under the FSB is .750 on an HBAR, but make sure to double check that before ordering. It's been a while since I toyed with AR's.

While you can cut down your existing FSB, if you ever want it back it will be quite a bit more of a pain than just ordering another FSB and driving your pins back in.

I have a rifle with a low magnification scope on it. At the lowest power, I can see most of the barrel. It's just a reality of low powered optics. They have a GREAT field of view.

actually this is my first time shooting optics on a ar.

my usualy ar is a 16 inch carry handle

If you focus on the target and not the front sight you won't even notice it.

You might want to shoot it a few times before you get to cutting the front sight off.
