Isotherm Part 471012
400 Watt @ 22-28 Volt DC
Features:
Using Isotherm’s mounted Water-Ration-Heater (MWRH)you have a self-contained electric heating appliance that solves this dilemma permanently. Mounted in the crew compartment and powered by the electrical system of the vehicle, the option of heated food and water becomes a reality.
This versatile device will heat up ready-to-eat meal packets (MREs) in no time, while heating water for coffee or other hot beverages.
The handy inner bucket is removable for ease of use, cleaning and maintenance. Water can be drawn from the main container by means of a tap conveniently located on the front panel. When larger amounts of water are required, the entire volume of the main container, more than one gallon, can be devoted to this purpose.
Constructed almost entirely of 18-8 stainless steel, the Isotherm HWR 400 Watt device operates readily from the vehicle’s 24-Volt DC electrical system and weighs less than 16 pounds (7.2 kg).
A three-position switch (center being off) permits selection of two temperature settings, 155°F (68C) or 185°F (85C). A green indicator light illuminates when power is supplied to the HWR and a white one illuminates when the heater element is heating. As a precaution, in the event the main container boils, two redundant protective circuits ensure that power to the heating element is shut off. In addition, a 1/3 psi stainless safety valve protects from excessive pressure build-up.
Another safety feature cuts power to the HWR if the supply voltage drops below 20 VDC, protecting the vehicles batteries from depletion in the event the HWR is inadvertently left on. The HWR returns automatically to normal operation when the supply voltage again rises above 21 VDC.
