So I've had a few PMs regarding if there was something about this VCOG I did not like. Here are my thoughts, feel free to ask any question regarding the optic. I am putting this here for others to see if they come across this thread.

The VCOG 1-8 is the best lpvo I have had my hands on. I have owned a March F 1-10 shorty, PST 2 1-6, Steiner T6xi 1-6, SWFA HD 1-6, and looked through several Razors 2s.

The VCOG, for my use case, is superior to those. Fantastic reticle, stupid long battery life taking a common battery, reticle is designed such that you dont really need illumination while still being able to shoot distance easily. The issued mount could be like, .1-.15" higher as it seems to be a 1.4 mount. Could just be me though.

If I want another lpvo, I'd try to buy another VCOG 1-8 without hesitation.

I wanted a slightly more precision based optic on my rifle, so I went to the Mk5 2-10. While I'll take a hit on the low end, I believe the overal performance of my rifle and how I use it will be enhanced with the Mk5.

TLDR: The VCOG 1-8x28 is the best LPVO I have seen so far and would recommend it if the majority of your magnified time is between 2-6x. If you value the 1-2x more, I'd steer you towards a G2 Razor. The VCOG is very much a utilitarian optic.

Again, let me know if there is anything I can answer.
