I bougth a used neck sizing die from a member on another site and it turned out to be a full length. Can I loosen the full length die and just size the neck instead of the whole case? I know this is a dumb ? I just wanted to know if anyone had ever done it. Thanks Gary

taracer .........

You can make better handloads with the FL die. You just compare one of your resized cases to one of your fired cases. This new Digital Headspace Gauge helps you do that, then it displays the "exact" chamber clearance (at the shoulder) that YOUR handloads have in YOUR particular chamber. Then you can adjust your FL die "perfectly".

0.0015" to 0.003" is standard. I set the dies so the bolt goes all the way forward and starts 1/3rd of the way down before tightening up. That averages 0.002" on most of my rifles.
