We got our first shipment of F14 / Jerry F Fusion Monoculars. These combine a 640 12um thermal with a traditional night vision tube. We will be testing these over the next few days and post some photos and videos. We sourced proper hand selected Photonis 3 Pin Pad Tubes for these units to ensure full functionality including the manual gain.

I don't get the photonis tube. If you're spending that kind of coin why not a couple k more for a nice filmless tube.
Because these units use European style 3 pin pad pigtails. You would have to void a l3 warranty if used in these systems because of soldering. If a 10160 l3 was used the manual gain would not be functional.

Photonis tubes actually kick ass. You need to go out and try one out. We mostly sell L3 filmless but photonis tubes are very impressive.

I should have my Jerry-F with 3000 FOM L3 WP tube this week. I’ll report back, probably in a dedicated thread.
Is the manual gain working or did they void the warranty on the l3 tube? We decided to source the correct tubes that this unit uses from Photonis to ensure full warranty and manual gain functionality.

Two ways to use L3:

Solder gain leads, void warranty.
Use as 10160 auto-gain and keep warranty. That said, I’m fully happy with my 3700 FOM DTNVS, which of course uses auto-gain. But I do want to be able to crank the NV tube all the way down, so I’ll risk it.

I’ve personally never had a tube go bad, so I’m willingly taking a risk and going the solder route. I think L3 factory tube warranty is only 2 years anyway, so it’s a minuscule risk in my opinion.

You were going to post pics and videos… did I miss them somewhere?

If these perform well at all, I’d post pics and videos of what the user sees on the display and the units will sell themselves.
I will be doing this soon. have not had time to get any quality content yet.

Received mine. Kosher is correct. With these current Jerry/AGM housings, if you want gain control, you need to use Photonis tubes. Mine has an L3 installed and there is no gain control (autogain), which is fine for straight-up NODs, but for a true fusion device manual gain control is almost a necessity. Also, for support and warranty purposes trying to go direct and get your own Jerry-F has turned out to be a not-so-good idea. You get no effective warranty or support, and this device is going to absolutely demand both (already having issues).

So, as much as I’d personally like to have a legit alternative for this aside from AGM, and one that offers an L3 WP tube option, that’s just not going to be practical. (Although it seems likely that iRay either has already, or soon will release a version that supports L3 tubes).

That said, even with my non-AGM minted model, this is the best 100% legit fusion NOD out there at a reasonable price. It’s the same price as a decent set of binos and is 10-times more useful than straight NV. It also beats the stuffin’ outta using a COTI/eCOTI and clobbers cobbled-together “dual band” (bridging NV and Thermal monoculars).

As much as it pains me to say (because I’m not an AGM fan) if I were to do it over, I’d just get one of these AGM units from a trusted Hide vendor, like Kosher.

Thank you for the feedback. Ive been using the F14 for the last few nights and its definitely a solid little unit.
