FYI $100K shoot

Re: FYI $100K shoot

I'm in... I'm sure we could find a fair way to split the proceeds if someone wanted to pay my entry fees and travel expenses.

I'm classified AA and a short yardage handicap shooter. Its money in the bank!!(It's only been 10 years since Ive been to a registered shoot.)

This could be the investment opportunity of a lifetime!!

Re: FYI $100K shoot

Not me, last time I shot a trap shoot, I paid $186 to win $3.95.

Thats when I quit and started shooting (rifle) for the guard. Win loose of draw, they still paid wages.

Re: FYI $100K shoot

I quit shooting Reg Trap 3 years ago, but am now after enough targets to return to my old class an yardage as well so I don't have to shoot penalty. Many a state shoot coming up as well so I should not have trouble getting targets.

I've a tripped planned to Florida, and I believe you can still reg. targets at Silver Dollar most every day now. I only need 600 of each if I've read the rules correctly.

Only draw back I see is shooting in ILL. that place sucks for shooters. Why they picked that place over all the others to move the grand to is beyond most shooters.

Heard other Trap shoots, Zone's as well as Western an Southeaster grands, will step up with more money as well.
One Machinegun shoot that has always been off the grid is thinking about going public, but moving it off shore an upping the money as well. That shoot has been in the dark so long I can't believe their going public, now.

Re: FYI $100K shoot

One of these days I'm going to get back to shooting trap. I quit when I started shooting service rifle in college. One of these days Ill get back to shooting that too.

Trying to do both at the same time is a losing battle. I was "aiming" my shotgun and jerking the crap out of the trigger on my service rifle.

I never have gone to the Grand. We made a pit stop in Vandalia on the way to Camp Perry one year just so I could see it. I did shoot the Southwestern one year though.

I don't remember what magazine I was reading but I seem to remember the new location for the Grand sounded NIIIICE.... Except for the politics.

Re: FYI $100K shoot

There are discussions of moving the Grand back to Ohio. They lost so many shooters wen the went to Sparta. And the new shooting facility Cardinal is very nice. I have a friend who Has done well at the grand He one the AA doubles last year , And a few years ago one The handicap and the Doubles.

Re: FYI $100K shoot

It's hard shooting both Shotgun and rifle thats for sure as whats needed for one trashs the other. As it stands now it's cheaper to shoot shotgun around here, all things taken into account.

Many years ago when I was in Florida spending $300.00 a weekend shooting trap was normal, but with side bets, games, live birds and some larger shoot winnings the real cost was about zero out of pocket. When we moved to Bama, Trap was a dry hole as far as money and game shoots went. Got back into rifle an pistol then.

With that kind of open money it's time to dust off the old Broadway and return to the sport I've always enjoyed. Sandbagging is trapshootings worst crime, but with that kind of money up for grabs, it's time to join them. Like Chicago poly-ticts, just show me the rule in print,... and by the way I'd like a 5 yard Cap reduction per the printed rules.

Re: FYI $100K shoot

Haven't shot American trap in 3 years now. I mostly shoot International Trap and International doubles now. There are so many people in the ATA/shoot at the Grand, that it's almost not worth attempting. For me, anyway.
