Very nice QD, your pic made my decision on the color. I have a TA in Woodland in production, just sent my FN to GAP Friday, That OD looks great. We need some more pics!

Don't listen to these bencher shooters. If you bought it for a carry rifle 2.5-3 lbs is perfectly fine. All to often I see shooters trying to mask poor fundamentals with lighter triggers. Yes I run custom triggers because they do break cleaner but I run 2.5s I tried 1-1.5s for a while but eventually went back to something a little more realistic for carrying it in the field

Yup a properly tuned 3 pound trigger will work just fine. All my match rifle triggers are 2.5-3 pounds.

Nice looking rifle. I am sure it will shoot like GAPs always do.

I am wanting one of these Thunder Ranch rifles bad. How long was the wait? I live in 25min from GAP and have been inside their vault. Its a real sight to see. I got to handle a Thunder Ranch when I was there. It is one sexy rifle.

Thanks for the responses. This will be my do all multi-purpose rifle for everything. So wanted the trigger at 3.0 pounds.

Bonjourjr - For wait time, the best thing to do is contact GAP directly to get the latest quote. They are great to work with.

I just don't want to bother them about a quote because I am still about 3 months out from making my decision. I am trying to squirrel away some money first. If you ever want to show it off your thunder ranch rifle, let me know.

I wasn't pickin' on him by any means, I was just curious. My Sendero is set at 1.5 pounds from Timney, but I don't hunt with it or anything. I'm trying to reach a mile with it, any slight twitch at that distance, and I just chucked a .50 cent piece off into the desert at 2825 fps. In this game of ours, precision is everything, so I was trying to truly understand the choice behind a heavier trigger, not condemn.

No offense OP :)

You don't need a light trigger to shoot a mile. Yes great gear helps but at any extended ranges you can't hide poor fundamentals with gear. Also, the ability to call wind really helps LOL

Thanks for all of the responses. And helping me to understand different trigger pull setups.

It will probably be about two weeks before I can get out and shoot it.

Adding to the above, not only do we have GAP, Manners and Badger Ordnance in KC - Triad Tactical is close by too.

You might want to enroll at a gym then..... Anything below 2.5lbs is negligent discharge waiting to happen on a tac rifle.

2.5-3 lbs is a very common/safe range.

Actually, a crisp 3lbs wouldn't be bad for hunting purposes, but all I do with my tacticool rifle right now is shoot 600yd BR, my CG trigger is set at 11oz, with NO safety I might add, don't plan on entering any tactical matches, but if I did guess I'd have to bring my other 6 Creed when (Chad finishes it) with a 6oz Jewell, that one has a safety, :) Or my 308, 8oz Jewell with bottom safety. :):)

Your Jewel triggers wouldn't last a day in harsh conditions. They crap out with the slightest bit of debris.

I believe that this guy has pretty good success with them

Good for him. I have had more then one go down in Florida's sandy landscape and lost another on the side of a mountain in West Virginia due to ice. The poundage of the trigger was constantly getting worse. So I switched to Timney.
Guy I shoot with had the same issues, I know for a fact we replaced at least 5 or 6 over a 6 month period. All the same problem. Just stating my experience with them. I also like Huber triggers. They have never given me a problem. I just now prefer the 517 for that flat shoe.
