I’m having doubts about getting my 19x slide milled for RMR and was wondering if the 19x slide is the same as Gen 5 19 slide? If so, does anyone have recommendations for a non Gucci aftermarket slide?

Omg man. Embrace the Guch! Once you get some Gucci you’ll wonder why you let yourself be a virgin for so long.

    Faxon barrels man.
Zev or Grey Ghost or Rival arms slides.
    More reliable that stock.

Was it the misspelling? I’m truly happy I could entertain.

Or do you disagree? Could you believe that a stock Glock barrel is superior to the faxon? Or that a simple slide swap will reduce reliability?

Can we hear from some people who have used these parts?

I thought embrace the guch was the funniest line there.

That’s not how I roll so more guchs for you to play with.

The Zev Z19 Duty is closer to the style I’m looking for. Thanks.

I can’t understand simultaneously bashing what I said, and saying you like the company I recommend for the slide.

Please help me understand why you seem to be suggesting that using a zev slide w all Glock parts is unreliable or a bad way to go?

I own a few glocks modded in various amounts. Maybe it’s my smith but... there are some barrels that run better than the stockers(less friction, more accuracy). A well made slide will at min match the factory. Telling me there isn’t a crafty machinist in the whole U S of A that could at min match the machinists at Glock?

Zev slides are top notch. Grey Ghost and rival are right there with them. There are others.

Faxon barrels run better than stock. More reliable.

Yes they are the same. I personally have a zev duty slide on my 19x. No problem what so ever with reliability. It has run with out a single problem since day one.

It's you who said aftermarket shit is more reliable than OEM Glocks.

It's up to you to prove that.

Someone is a little touchy today. I never say they were bad companies. Where did I say “ zev slide w all Glock parts is unreliable or a bad way to go?”

All I said was that I didn’t want a Gucci slide. Gucci defines the look of the slide not the company nor the function. I just feel there’s no need to have random port holes and weird serrations styles. I get the “weight reduction and improved grip” but most of it is not needed.

Thank you. Did you get yours coated to match or leave it?

Rocking it factory. It’s my edc not a show piece. I thought about shipping the original to be milled, but for the price of the duty slide you can’t go wrong.

all mine are lonewolf. all but one predates whatever barrel they are using now. if i got your slide length right youll be faster using a natural point of aim than an optic.

save the dough and start building a 34/35 with thr rmr cut. helped me to exceed 30 yards.

Gen 5 19 slide fits fine.

My 19x has rmr slide cut, has a PMM compensator.

I have a spare non cut slide with tall sights and threaded barrel for suppressed use. I’ll probably get it cut also.

If you keep your eyes open for 19x slides, I got a factory complete 19x slide on ebay for $350 for a smaller CCW package, I ended up selling it.

And I’m not touchy, the day is beautiful!

Slide is at min just as reliable. Can’t be more reliable there I’m thinking.
My observations on the barrel, guns w Faxon barrels run smoother. I had a stock g19 that would fail in battery, my smith recommended the Faxon and I tried it. It’s never seen another failure.

The only reason I suggest aftermarket is that it’s faster to get your hands on. Not my gun, no reason for me to get firey.

my first glock i built from random parts (aftermarket and glock) ran/runs beautiful. the only way i could be more cheap would be to use a 80% lower. i have 2-3000 rounds through it with the only failures being due to handloads.

Now on the other hand, i built a 100% aftermarket 6.61" glock 24. nothing but the best. nothing but aftermarket parts. the gun just doesn't run. 2-300 rounds. i take it to the range just to see how its gonna f up that day. im hoping that it just needs time to settle down.

I’ve got a 19 that is largely aftermarket, with no failures in 500 rounds. My smith built it though. I can say he does more things to guns I bring him than I ask. What Ive noticed are random polished and coated parts. He’s an old dude likely putting old dude magic on his work.

Faxon has some of the worst quality control out there. Out of 5 products them 4 went back and I kept the rail on my 308. I’m really interested why you like them so much

Get your slide cut to make the optic press fit and don’t look back.
