GA Precision

Re: GA Precision

Gun OCD...people order a gun, then want the latest, greatest while still waiting for the first one to be finished. Lather, rinse, repeat. In addition, SH has a high level of GAP owner's so you will always see the most for sale here, regardless of motivation.

Re: GA Precision

GAP builds a great rifle so its not a quality issue if thats what you are wondering. Its simple math...GA Percision is extremely popular on this site, as well as, one of the largest (if not the biggest) custom manufacturers, leading them to produce and sell more guns then most any other smith on this site...so simply put there is just way more of them out there.

So if people need cash or want to buy a new gun, which are usually the reasons why most sell, they know if they post their GAP it will sell.

Re: GA Precision

as said, it basically boils down to GAP being so popular, there are more of their rifles made, and there fore more in peoples hands which translates to seeing more of them for sale...

Re: GA Precision

Actually I think the question really is broader than that.

Why so many rifles for sale right now?

Look down the list. Surgeon, GAP, name a top tier maker and you can likely find one. Even Tac Ops, and those sales have historically been so rare as to border on the mythical in comparison to everything else.

Some of the PX volume recently has been an uptick in advertiser participation, granted. But reading the PX forums a good bit, I have to say that I feel like there are considerably more high end rifles being sold of all kinds than I can remember in the handful of time I have been here.

Whats driving it?

IMHO, it is definitely global warming. When it is 100+ degrees outside by 8:00 AM, summer becomes a really good time to refine collections and fund other projects to shoot when the weather becomes tolerable.

Re: GA Precision

I love my GAP, contemplated selling it to fund an AI AX purchase, but couldn't bring myself to do it. So its back to saving for me. They are sweet rifles and all tend to shoot very well.

I'd say its people selling to try something new and different, looking for the next edge.
