Cajunshooter, Being that we both live in Luling, Louisiana.... How about you, myself, and Kent from Destrehan meet up and lets see whats up with the rifle. I have a good amount of match 308 on hand ranging from FGMM, Hornady BTHP, 173gr LC(white box), Black Hills match, and remington 165.

Both Kent and I are friends of George and good standing customers. I think if something really is wrong with the rifle, it would look better having on your end having us both agree with you that there is a mistake.

There is no such thing as the perfect gunsmith, EVERYONE makes mistakes. If there was such thing as perfection, then there would never have been the creation of improvement.

I ask you please, allow Kent and myself to help you and the problem might get resolved without having to send the rifle back.

Hey I once had a rifle build by GAP that after around a 100 rds the bbl steel went bad. Not there fault and next bbl did well in comps. The bbl has been replaced several times since and current bbl on it from GAP would out shoot any shoot on planet.

No one is perfect but GAP really tries to please its customers. GAP got big because they take care of business and build great rifles. Give them a chance to fix it. They have built many fantastic shooting rifles for me

after a call from W Roscoe who talked to the OP I went through all our orders this morning and found one that matches that was shipped at the end of September. I emailed him this morning and have not heard back yet. He will be taken care of, He could have talked to Kerry who no longer works here so lets keep this thread civil. At this point there are 3 things it could be

1. Scope

2. Mounts

3. Bullet swiping on a baffle in the brake


It could be nothing else as 7 MOA at 100 is worse than smoothe bore muskets.

At any rate he will be taken care of 100%

I too find certain inconsistency in the OP's claims.

I've just recently had GAP build a precision AR for me, it was the first time I've ever sent anything to a gunsmith for assembly, or even ordered work done from one. (I thank the Hide, particularly BigJoe for pointing me in their direction)

I didn't know my ass from a hole in the ground, and traded e-mails with my stupid questions back and forth with Kerry, to the point where they probably didn't want my business. But Kerry answered all my newbie questions and George even got back to me ON HIS VACATION, via his phone.
At that point I hadn't even spend a single dime with GAP.

So I have a hard time believing that they'd hold my hand through my learning process and give a paying customer lip service. It just doesn't track with me.

Does GAP test the rifles they work on for accuracy before they send it to the customer? When A10XRifle mentioned it may be the bullet striking the brake it reminded me of a custom rifle my brother had built. It was built by a reputable gunsmith. My brother could not get it to group so he ended up sending it back to the gunsmith and sure enough there was an issue. I read a lot about accuracy guarantee but can it be true if the rifle isn't tested before it is shipped?

How could they make an accuracy promise if they did not test fire them?

And if you look at the post history of this cajunshooter person... well... he is a retard, and if that is too harsh he certianly at least has down sydrom, or mongolodism, what ever its called these days.

You know this site was a huge resource for me when I started down the path to buy my first acuraized rifle. I got some really great advice and answers both on the site through pm and the shout box But I dont know.... seems like it is getting ready to jump the shark.

This guys posts, start by asking a number of questions about this and that, so he obviously has little or no experience with rifles... and thats fine we all start somewhere...

Then a few days ago he starts talking about problems with a rifle... not grouping, and starts calling around asking people why..

now i doubt that someone at GAP just said the barell is the issue, and i really doubt it happened twice, I think GAP would have simply said first time round... send it back it we will look at it, done!

But if GAP did say its the bbl click, then thats not really great of them.. but again, thats soo unlikely, and also... this dude would have emailed gap and there would be a record of it.

So.. anyway.. he starts compalining about a rifle not grouping a few days ago.. gets some fix, then flames out GAP lol.

7 MOA, dude come on, I, unlike everyone else on this site that was a sniper, or special ops, cia, kgb whatever, am a simple basically trained marine, and part time hillbilly, and I know that its obviosly an optic problem. the only way you get 7 moa at 100 yards ( without trying) is if the optics are wacked, not put on right, rings something, or the bbl is moving.

And now... again, in a thread yesterday or the day before he raves about this company that gave him the fix, but didnt say what it was, and he is now absent from this thread.

This is 100 percent user error, and I am not only talking about cajunshooter... but also the doctor that succsefully delivered him into this world.

There is probley no accuracy guarantee with the OP rifle. To get that guarantee it would have to be a full blown in house build with a custom barrel.

That has nothing to do with this situation. That post is saying if you make heat between TAC OPS and GAP you will be banned. The OP clearly only has a problem with GAP, not pitting GAP against TAC OPS.
