I have a GAP Win m70 338 win mag/ Bartlien #4 fluted OD green ceracote / Manners MST GAP Flectern / Sunny Hill bottom metal / Montana sling. It is better than advertised. I had high expectations prior to receiving, as GAP has a stellar reputation. The quality of my GAP is so awesome, I want another. The wife says a second GAP is going to cost a bathroom update! That 6.5 SAUM is going to be worth it.
Buy it you wont be disappointed. You won't find any thing bad about GAP. If you look in the firearms for sale section the used GAP's sell like hot cakes. If your still undecided just read of all the I am having a problem with my custom rifle threads (by the way NON OF THEM ARE GAPS).
I have one. It is a very nice rifle. If you put your location on your profile, the may be someone close to you with one. If you're in my area, you're free to check it out, and maybe test it out. It has consistently shot very well. Under ideal circumstances, it makes one big hole. During load development, it shot a little over MOA with its least favorite loads.
I don't own a GAP, but everything I hear about their rifles is top notch, and their customer service is excellent. If I was going to do a custom build, it would either be GAP, or SAC.
I always figured I'd do a GAP custom build for a .338 LM. As fate would have it a member here decided to sell his with hardly a round count to speak of and a fair price. It's everything I expected from a GAP build. After connecting repeatedly at 1760 yards on an 18" square plate there was not doubt it was worth every penny. I know it's roughly a MOA sized target but it was my first time at attempting to reach beyond 900 yards and was a big jump. It's an awesome stick and I know if I'm off target it's me, not any limitations in the gear.
I mongo'd a used GAP HRT last week. It was at Outpost Armory as a used trade in. Whoever had owned it had been a rifle user and not a rifle accumulator (like me), but it had the feel of quality. Nice heft and oh, so slick.
It's a GAP. It's a quality rifle which will shoot very accurately. If it has the features you want in a rifle then I am sure you will not be disappointed. If not then you can order exactly what you want and have them build it. That's the advantage of having a custom rifle built.
I have a crusader. It's super accurate. Comes with 3/8 guarantee but I have shot many sub 1/4 moa groups. As with most builds of this type it will be heavy. About 15 pounds with optics.
