How neat would it be to find one of these old hoes!

UFH on the bayonet is Union Fork and Hoe..........They are just beating their plow shares into swords into plowshares.
Your bayonet looks like a manufactured 10 inch.
At the start of WWII a lot of the 16 inch bayonets were ground down to 10 inch and there are a variety of styles they ended up looking like.
The scabbard is just a Navy designation for their fighting knife...
Im thinking they just used the same scabbard throat and had Victory Plastics modify the fiberglass scabbard as necessary for the length of blade.
My local shop has a MK I in very nice shape with some cool ass sailor knot work customization I keep telling myself I should buy.
That pictured sized knife is great for common day work ships duties. Its not a KaBar length sword.
Gave my nephew a Randall Fireman before he travelled up to AK to work as an engineer on a fishing boat thinking he could use a handy belt knife in his duties...
He graduated Maine Maritime last spring. Im thinking his position on the boat is more "officer class" than "oiler" but still who doesnt need a good knife.
Cocksucker has yet to say thank you for the gift though I might have to pummel the shit out of him and take it away.
Edit/Add....
Just noticed that the ad is for hoes (cant type hat without thinking Kamal Harris) made from the 16 inch cutoffs.
Man talk about a tiny hoe (Kamala).
When the Patton model Cavalry swords were surplussed just about WWII time a knife maker in Cali bought a bunch and repurposed them as fighting knives for troops - they are a sought after collector piece now.
