I cannot wait to watch these things turn my garden (neighborhood?) into a lawless wasteland of death and partially-eaten feral children.

While we are on the subject of bugs...
Years ago in N.Central Arkansas, I observed on a tall stem of green grass many tiny bright green aphids, up toward the seed head. The stem was infested with them. Then, to my amazement, along comes a black ant about a half inch long, up the stem. That ant stopped at every aphid along the way, and each aphid exuded a tiny drop of something liquid, which the ant collected/drank. If memory serves, the ant had an expandable tank in its back half. I was astonished to observe that ant was farming those aphids. Or perhaps extorting them?

Ants & other bugs probably really rule the earth.

I did that a bunch of years back. I think the instructions on mine said to leave it in the sun in a stapled over brown shopping bag. You know so the birds didn’t eat it. I think it gave how many days to leave in the bag. But let me tell you when I opened the bag a ton of them tiny bastards came out. Took a few years but they got big. Wish I had a picture of the giant one that was on my window screen late at night. Fucking thing looked like it could eat a humming bird. But here a picture of one of the smaller ones.

got it at the bug store in St. Louis Mo

They only live a few months.

They also are not going to survive a South Dakota winter. Their eggs will if they mate though.

I saw one several years ago in a parking lot. I got down right in it's face to get a good picture for the kiddos. I forgot them bastards fly! Scared the shit out of me when it took off right for my face.

I pictured you were saying something like this

a fat guy running around with a hedge clipper or synth dressed up like a ninja in your neighbors garden
