Gas gun - aero enhanced upper slop

I’ve noticed poi shift between shooting barricades and shooting off bipod, so I started looking at monolithic and semi-monolithic uppers which led me to want to try out the aero enhanced upper. I used to run bcm uppers and am very familiar with the thermo fit between the barrel and upper. This aero upper is very loose it’s like it’s oversized. I’ve seen various articles and forums about shimming and also bedding with loctite or jb weld. I’m wondering if there is a company that is making barrels with an oversized barrel extension or if anyone recommends a barrel manufacturer that makes a barrel that would be snug in an aero upper?

My barrel flew in loosely and I only see a shift of .2mil going from bipod/rear bag to standing tripod (bag forward of magwell).

You 100% sure its a rifle POI shift and not a shooter natural POI shift?

I’m def not 100% sure it’s just a rifle shift, I could be inducing some kind of paralax error I suppose but I did notice a pretty consistent poi shift from prone/bipod to shooting barricades with a bag. Talking with some other guys they said they account for the positional shift in their dope. I just wanted to try an aero upper to see if it helped. I haven’t put it together yet, I just noticed the upper seemed a little sloppy compared to a BCM. I’m gonna order a nice barrel and shim it, we’ll see how it does.

Are you able to shoot a bolt gun from all positions with little or no POI shift? If not, I wouldn't go down a gas gun rabbit hole until you can.
I’ve been shooting a bolt gun for a little while I just recently started shooting gas gun. I’m definitely a lot more accurate with the bolt gun off of barricades. I thought I just had bad ammo for the gas gun and then finally started noticing a poi shift going from prone to shooting off of props, that’s when another guy told me about the handguard deflection, so I started looking at semi-monolithic upper designs which led me to the aero.

I haven’t put it together yet, just test fitted a barrel I had and it was super loose. I just ordered a Rainer ultra match barrel to try out for it. If it doesn’t shoot decent I’ll swap it into a bcm upper.
Like I said mine was not tight (M4e1 with a Blackstone Arms barrel). Either way it shoots .7-1.5 moa depending on the day (me) and has a very predictable .2mil shift low.

I wouldn't sweat the barrel fit too much. Tighter is better sure, but it seems based on my sample of 1 that it may not matter as much as I previously thought.

Thanks for the re-assurance I’ve read on different forums that the tight fit doesn’t really matter, because the barrel extension shoulder is mated against the shoulder on the upper.. and something about when you torque the barrel nut down it squeezes the upper onto the extension. I got a barrel coming in next week so I’ll put it together and try it out.
