Gas gun and .243 w/ 105-115"s ????

Getting ready to build a .243 DPMS LR, it will have a 24" barrel and I'm kicking around a 2" forward gas port. Gonna shoot 105/107's or 115 DTAC's

Anyway, all the data I'm finding is for long barrel bolt guns, anyone have any reloading data/recco's on gas guns? I'd like to keep pressures in the 55K or less range.

Is 2850 fps a realistic goal for DTAC's in this rig?

Any links or info would be appreciated.

I built a DPMS LR-308 (M110 clone) in .243xc (243 with 30 degree shoulder and long neck). It has a Kreiger 20" 1.7.5 twist barrel. I have been shooting 108 Bergers at 2850 fps with Viht N165. I have also tried the 115 DTAC and have been shooting them at 2700 fps, both shoot very well. I tried RL-25, H1000, 4831SC. I have had the best results for velocity and accuracy with the Viht 165.

I shoot the 105 Bergers with Retumbo and get 2995 with a 24" AR-10T. I don't know if it would be of much benefit to shoot the DTACS at 2850.

Gotta tag this one.

I've been kicking around the same idea. I was planning on a 24" tube and hoping to get 2950ish fps with the 115 DTACS. Sounds like that might be optimistic.

Mine will be suppressed with an adjustable gas block, so that may help my case a little bit.
