The title is essentially the question. If someone is skilled with a gas gun, say a .308 AR10, do those skills translate over to being skilled with a bolt gun? Some will say, fundamentals are fundaments, and while I know this and agree based on my observations from going to precision rifle shooting from pistol shooting, there are some differences in driving the rifle between the two platforms.
Why I'm wondering this is that I have a Seekins SP10 and an AI AT, but I'm limited on time to shoot even just one of them. I would like to be more proficient with the gas gun, but I don't want to spend a lot of time on the gas gun and then pick up the AT 6 months later and not have any idea what I'm doing anymore. Part of me thinks being skilled with a gas gun is harder so that's where I should put my time.
Who has insight or experience they want to share?
