AUSTRALIA
G'day,

I'm in the Southern Tablelands in NSW these days. I'm not shooting comps or anything but just have a keen interest on being able to load and shoot accurately at long range. I've signed up to a 2 day 1000m training course and that has prompted me to revisit my reloading efforts in order to do that course with quality, consistent ammo (working a Berger/Lapua/CCI load development at present).

Cheers,
Kelly Anne

Welcome! Recently moved from the states to the ACT. Cool area, although tough to keep up on my previous hobbies... Good luck on your course, and the reloading journey. It is fun and rewarding!

G'day G'dog,

Thank you. So you'll be shooting at Majura then ? That's where I've been shooting/ testing my loads a bit recently when I'm not shooting at the farm. Welcome to Oz. I lived in TX (San Antonio) for 3 and a bit years 2001 - 2004, thanks to an Air Force posting to Lachland/ Kelly AFB.

Thanks Kelly! Australia is one neat land, we’ve been exploring and trying to experience as much as we can.

The Majura range is on the to-do list. However the hurdles to get legally equipped (my stuff in the US went into cold storage) have shifted items on the list, especially after moving, new job, etc.

Hey Kelly,

where you sign up? i thought the registry was having a dummy spit about long range courses as was the story i read about 365 in Tamworth.

Hi, 365 is back up and running and that's who I'm signed up with.

I'm sure you'll enjoy getting around Oz (at least when the smoke clears)! I hope there is an avenue you'll be able to pursue to get a license here within your time frame. let me know if i can help.

Thank you, we are checking our phones fire fire alerts all day and evening because the continual widespread presence of smoke means its actually not a good alert of an impending local fire! Go figure.

G'day from WA state. Said goodbye to Oz when they brought in their bullshit gun laws (I like in Tassie for 21 years, born there, went to uni in Hobart) - i see they still vote in the most incompetent twits and it seems the whole country has turned very liberal ... except for a small pocket of a few. Best decision i ever made was to move to the USA, and raise my family here, the 2016 election was the first i got to vote in --- and it was awesome.

Sucks on the fires, coming from rural australia, i hear my family has been unable to do burn offs and take out trees as the liberlism grows down under (greenies and that shit) and hence you have this mess. Just what i hear from family.

welcome aboard ...
