Re: GDI PROM Precision Rifle Mount Drops

So only flavor offered is 25moa?

Add this to a can't rail and that is 40-45moa. Might be difficult to get to zero on some optics. Guess its time to dig out the old 0moa bases again.

They absolutely return to zero... better than expected.

You can use the flat head on the side to tighten them down so they won't come off or if your rail is out of spec you can adjust them.

Frank have you tried these next to the BOBRO? So far on the Market I have found BOBRO to return the best but again I have not tried the GDI scope mounts just the ACOG mounts they have built. GDI makes a solid product and I have been waiting for this line to come out. Interested to see the monday details

Re: GDI PROM Precision Rifle Mount Drops

GDI mainly sells to the military, they RCOM and other mounts are used by a lot of groups. Hopefully they will jump more into Civilian sales this coming year, I know they are talking about a bigger push in that direction.

He does have an "S" Model designation in the packet he sent me, the ones above are the "L" so i can get a clarification on the "S". I haven't seen the "S" .

Mostly I believe these are designed for AR10 Type Rifles so if you use them on a bolt gun a 0 MOA base is recommended.

Re: GDI PROM Precision Rifle Mount Drops

The only Bobro I have compared it too is the SWFA version used on the SSHD line. Only Bobro I own, everything else here is Larue.

These are the new ones so I have yet to test the production models. My PROM was a GEN 1, these are like GEN 3+ so a new series of comparisons need to be done come spring

    Looking forward to it.

Spuhr is great, I have several, but they are not throw lever mounts, a bit of a different animal ...

Re: GDI PROM Precision Rifle Mount Drops

LL, you wrote above that they should be used on a zero MOA base if on a bolt gun... I'm assuming that goes for the AR's as well.

Why no cant? I have a 22 MOA riser on my AR, this isn't recommended?

MOA is built into the mount.

Re: GDI PROM Precision Rifle Mount Drops

Ah ha... I was not aware of that! Guess I should read next time instead of stare at the pictures!

Now I'm definitely in as long as the price isn't way up there.

I am not into throw levers. I prefer non-QD for scope mounts. Especially a saddle mount system where the mount is so much heavier.

then why are you wasting people's time posting in here, if you have no interest in it, you should learn to stop making useless comments.

Re: GDI PROM Precision Rifle Mount Drops

LL, in the top pic with the scopes they have ring tops that will support secondary optics.

Do you know what the intro price will be, ball park and if those will be available straight away and how much they will be additional.

Re: GDI PROM Precision Rifle Mount Drops

Cool, might have to dig up some more stuff to sell and try to get one. It would be nice to be able to pull the 6-24x off of the P308 and stalk some pigs, then put it back on and be able to shoot steel and deer all without worrying too much about return to zero.

Searched GDI for a minute and found this, it has some info on the mount

Re: GDI PROM Precision Rifle Mount Drops

This is part of the story in the Short Dot thread, sounds good.

Re: GDI PROM Precision Rifle Mount Drops

Hmm... Yeah, want to see the price here. That's a bit much for me right now, but it's exactly what I've been looking for. Timing is everything.

Re: GDI PROM Precision Rifle Mount Drops

I've been eagerly waiting as well since I have a group-buy HDMR incoming right after the first of the year and I don't currently have a 34mm mount. I'm hoping the 'Hide price will be considerably better...I have a really hard time imagining a mount being worth $500.00, no matter how good it is...In context that's the price of a PST 1-4x...

Re: GDI PROM Precision Rifle Mount Drops

I contacted GDI about the details of the buy, there will be a significant discount for the HIDE Members, so that has definitely been negotiated by me. However that said, I highly doubt even with the special pricing you'll be putting a Vortex 1-4x in a mount of this type. They are dual mounts, the RMR and the main scope so that is why the price is the way it is. Not to mention GDI are not a low budget mount, they are Made here in the US and not in Asia mass produced so you're gonna pay more for them.

They said they were releasing it this week to us, I figure around $350 per ... but I am still waiting to hear from them for the official release.

I for one would like to hear more.

ADM and BOBRO are in no way the same. They both make a great mount but not the same.

Re: GDI PROM Precision Rifle Mount Drops

Yeah I doubt it will but thanks. Can't afford the mount plus an RMR... Hell, probably can't even get in on the mount buy unless I sell some more stuff. We'll see.
