got a winchester model 70 in 30-06 , months ago; its a mid 80's model winlite, with the mcmillan factory schnabel stock; a friend owned it , bedded it, cut the barrel down to 20", recrowned and shot it with brownells teflon moly coating;

now that i have it, i was checking all the action screws, etc., and found the action screw holes needed cleaning up and the bottom metal would not function when tightened down.

got a bottom tap in 1/4-32 and with my fingers carefully ran it in the action screw holes chasing out old gunk; put it all back together and WOW , it goes together like it should, the bottom metal works perfectly the screws all line up in the same direction when tightened ;

perfect and ready with a new Krylon paint job it's ready for backpack hunting!!

gotta love proper tools to make a job easy

optic is Leupold vx3 1.5-5x20 with illum german #4 reticle

light rifle, sweet mojo for the deer , can't wait
