Geisele DMR versus SSA-E Trigger Questions

Is the Geissele SSA-E trigger basically the same as the Geissele DMR trigger just without the adjustability?

I will be using one in an AR15 platform.

Since I am on the subject, where is the best place to buy a Geissele trigger?

From a functional standpoint yes. However their internals are different and therefore not interchangeable. I have two SSA-E and they're great. I wanted a nice trigger pull but fewer parts, so non adjustable.

I was actually about to post if people prefer the DMR, 3 Gun or SSA-E trigger for their guns and why. Not trying to hijack your thread, just figured it fit.

I went from a standard Milspec trigger to an SSA, and then to an SSA-E on my 308. Milspec was horrible for me on longer shots, and the SSA was a huge improvement. After getting used to it though, I thought just a slightly lighter pull would be perfect. That was right about the time the SSA-E came out, perfect fit. I haven't used the 3-gun or DMR, but for a non-adjustable precision/combat/zombie apocalypse trigger, I think it'd be hard to beat the SSA-E.........

I have a the DMR in my AR..i absolutely love it. I cant compare to the others listed, however even with the steep price tag, Im glad I spent the extra $.

I have the following Geissele triggers (2) SSA-E's, (2) SG3's, (1) High Speed DMR and (1) High Speed Match. Geissele's descriptions are dead on as follows:

SSA-E, light smooth 1st stage and a 2nd stage candy cane like break. The weight on my trigger gauge is right @ 3.5lbs for both.

SG3, light smooth take up (it does feel like it's rolling on bearings) and then bang w/a really short reset. The weight on these is right @ 3.2lbs.

High Speed (DMR & Match), really light smooth 1st stage and a 2nd stage icicle/glass rod break. My DMR weight is set up @ 3.5lbs, the Match is @ 3.0lbs.

The high speed has several adjustments which really fine tunes the trigger for your preferences...1st weight, 2nd stage weight, over travel, and sear engagement.

The high speed is an incredible feeling trigger - it's better than a lot of bolt gun triggers...yes, you heard right - it's that good!

Agree completely. I have the DMR and match. I love em both, but the lighter second stage makes it my favorite trigger.

I love my 3 gun in my carbine, but would go with something else in a precision rifle - too much movement for my taste. But for carbine stuff it is the perfect trigger in my opinion.

I own the H-S National Match DMR trigger. If I could do it over again, I could settle with the SSA and not be heartbroken.

Why? Less parts to potentially fail if you take after the "hard use" mantra. I am not aware of anyone that has had a problem with the adjustable triggers and nothing has ever shifted or borked out with my trigger. Simply, if I could do it over again, I'd save some cash and go with a non-adjustable because they're simpler. They're all bombproof, and the non-adjustables moreso. The Geissele triggers are already better than most anything available on the AR platform and you don't really find reliability/breakage issues turning up like other brands.

The hi-speed line of triggers do feel better than the non-adjustable, but in my opinion, just a hair. I think for most AR guys, the difference is minimal. We're at the point where we're comparing the trigger break to candy canes, glass rods, and chicken bones...not glass rods and sponge cake. I would look at it as the "AIAE vs AIAW" debate. It's a little nicer, but a lot more scratch. Rainier Arms is fantastic and they will take care of you. They're a mile from my workplace and they have a bunch of Geissele triggers on demo lowers for folks to put their booger hooks on. That store is a severe money trap!

I'm actually thankful at times that there are no huge dealers in close proximity to me. It's easier on the wallet!
