Geissele DMR and Loctite

I will be installing a second-hand DMR in a P308 this weekend and am looking for advice about the adjustment screws. The instructions indicate that the screws are coated with a polymer compound which establishes a prevailing torque to keep the screws from loosening.

Any thoughts on whether or not this compound will continue to work for a second install and second round of adjustments?

The sear and overtravel screws seem to have a good bit of torque holding them, but the 2nd stage adjustment screw is very easy to turn.

Any thoughts on whether or not green (wicking) or purple loctite would be a good idea?

Any advice would be appreciated!

Re: Geissele DMR and Loctite

If it gives you confidence I'd go with the wicking green and a very careful application (a syringe would help).

Unless its been adjusted repeatedly I wouldn't worry about it, but the best answer I can give you would be to give Geissele a call.

Thanks. I agree that a call to GA would be the best idea. I may have to wait till next week to do final adjustments. I was hoping to get it all set today and shoot tomorrow.

Re: Geissele DMR and Loctite

Emailed Bill Geissele and he says No Loctite on the 2nd stage adjustment screw. It's too small and loctite would make it too hard to turn later. He also said that even if it is loose, the force of the spring follower pushing on this screw will keep it from turning, so no worries there.

I will say, the DMR feels extremely smooth, precise and crisp. I'll look forward to fine tuning on range.
