It has made my rifles shoot the best they can.

Five years ago when Brand told me that he was going to build a new unit that was faster .

I said I'am in for one of the new one's befor it was even built it was just on paper.

So now it's time to retire the Gen 1

If only the Gen II could correct grammar.

Anyway, the Gen I is not made anymore. I'm getting a Gen II in the Spring and 427 has already performed certain favors for me which has guaranteed I sell the Gen I only to him.

Re: Gen 1 Prometheus retirement party

Unless one pays close attention to barrel and powder temperature in doing ballistic calculations, a Prometheus is arguably a complete waste of money. From Denton Bramwell:

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">
5. If you’re not worried about a 3 degree F change in powder temperature, don’t worry about a tenth of a grain of powder more or less, in rifle cartridges similar to this one. Both produce about the same change in pressure and muzzle velocity.</div></div>

Also see:

However, the U.S. economy is in a recession, and I'm highly in favor of other people spending money to no effect, which will help.

Besides, I think the Prometheus is a neat gadget as well as a status symbol. You don't buy a Rolex to know the time - they don't keep very good time - you buy a Rolex to demonstrate to the world that you have enough money to buy a Rolex. So, drive on, brothers!

Making perfect ammunition eliminates a lot of deduction when trying to determine a failed shot. The Prometheus has no wandering zeros or powder throw issues associated with other systems. It makes SD and ES lower than any other powder thrower.

If the ammo is perfect and the weapon/optic is sound; the booger hook can always be blamed, focused and corrected. So now, I keep working on my hook.........

Re: Gen 1 Prometheus retirement party

There is no such thing as "perfect ammunition."

The number three shooter at the Sniper's Hide Fall Bash concluded yesterday afternoon was shooting commercial ammunition using a borrowed rifle.

It's more about the Indian than the arrow.

I wish I would have known beforehand that being able to load a charge to the KERNEL of powder, completely eliminating powder charge variables, was a complete waste of my money………….Damn It…………..What was I thinking? Who cares that I’m doing this at 6 rounds per minute. Fuck…I’m an idiot.
