After over a year of trying, I'm finally getting into the precision rifle game. Before a deployment in early 13', I spoke with a local builder on a rifle that I wanted put together while I was deployed. I figured 8 months was plenty of time, and I'd have a new toy when I got home. I gave him the specs and went overseas. I checked in for the first few months, then he went "Black" on comms and I didn't hear from him for months. Fast forward to a month before I come home and he contacts me about starting the build...Too late. You have to earn my business and communication is paramount.
Fast forward to this spring and I purchased a SCAR 17S. I took one of "OhioLongRange's" one-day Precision Rifle 1 courses in Wadsworth, OH and I'm hooked. The SCAR 17S did well, but I couldn't hang with the others for accuracy or scope quality. In just 4 days, I've ordered a new .260 Remington build from SAC, a Bushnell ERS and sold the SCAR.
I can not wait to put this new rifle to the test!
