Hey guys, thinking about trying another Schmidt & Bender in the ultra short 5-20.. What's the general consensus on these? Is the eye box better than the 5-25 PM II? I really wanna like one of these cause I love the compactness of it and the low profile turrets... Thanks guys..

I think it's amazing for the size. For the size it's probably the best scope in the world.

Optically the 5-25 is better but it's huge in comparison.

My experience has been the opposite. The 5-20 I had, it appeared to have better glass then the 5-25. So many factors play a part in that though. Mine was extremely clear once I got the diopter dialed in. At thai point the glass on all the different models are so close you will never see the difference unless you have both in hand and are going back and forth.

Fascinating. To me the 5-25 was significantly better, primarily with how it handles CA. But I respect Pusher's experience so perhaps i'll have to revisit the 5-20. Need something for my gas gun.

I have owned a Kahles Gen 3 K624i and compared it side by side with a NF 5-25. Preferred the Kahles in the end, but it was already gone. I then got to compare a 5-20US to the NF and wow... It might not have the "color pop" of the Kahles coatings but damn do I love the S&B. I have not had the chance to look through a S&B 5-25, but I can't imagine it being worth the extra size for the shooting I do. After using the US, I am going to a NF 4-16 on my other rifle. I love how the shorter compact optics make the rifle feel, even if its psychological.

As for eye box, it isn't hard to get behind at all when the rifle is set up right. I have not tried positional shooting, but I don't see it being an issue.

    Thank you sir...

    I hate you.

After looking at this thread and the one linked, I am questioning myself on if I want to "budget" out and get the NF 4-16 or save some pennies and pick up another S&B US for my backup rifle.
