Those using the trimmer do you buy a separate cutter head for each cartridge?Or only for each caliber?Just ordered one and unsure if it’s easier to buy cutters for each cartridge .If set for say 6 dasher does cutter need to be adjusted for 6creed?

I get a cutter for each caliber that goes inside the trimmer body and a case holder for each family that screws into the top. (Use a lock ring to return to your settings without having to reset it)

I have a cutter for 22, 24, 27 & 30 cals. Its a bit of a pain to reset the cutting blade itself exactly perfect, once its dialed in I lock it down and dont change it.

Each case family will need its own case holder. To clarify the case family comment, I can use my 3006 case holder to cut 270, I just set it up for 3006 and use a washer under neath the lock ring to make it the correct height so that it trims the 270 to the correct length. I use a different cutting blade between the two obviously.

Your 6mm cutter should work just fine for both dasher and creed. The cutter just spins around in a circle, anything of that diameter is fine to use.

Thanks wasn’t sure. When I ordered the woman taking the order said cutter should work for all cartridges of same size.If set for thickest or thinnest brass of that caliber she couldn’t remember which one though.

Thanks Spife!Thats exactly what I was wondering .Not necessary to have a cutter for each cartridge only caliber.Do you notice any difference when trimming different cartridges of the same caliber?

I set my cutters up based on what I want it to shoot most bestest.

My 30 cutter is set up based on my 3006 brass, I use it for blackout and I do notice that one side of the internal chamfer is done ever so slightly more than the opposite side on the blackout but I think that the main driver there is that my blackout brass isnt very consistent with one side of the neck being .002 thicker than the opposite side. The cut itself isnt different, its just that there is more brass there that ends up getting removed.

Your whole rifle system is only as accurate as its shittiest part. In the blackout my brass is the shittiest. (but the brass was cheap!)

I dont notice this phenomenon on my 22 cutter, all my 223 brass of many different lots/makes looks to come out just fine.

I do, and I use Forster/Hornady die lock rings for a set n forget case trim length, I can swap calibers in less than a minute

I buy seperate cutters as well. This idea here is great! Thanks!

The problem is my Dasher brass doesn't grow at all, so I never get to use my trimmer, is very annoying...

I also buy separate cutters for each caliber. I use the 30/06 case holder to trim 270 Win. To get the proper cutting length for the 270 using the 30/06 case holder, I place 2 Dimes, one @ 9 o'clock and a one @ 3 o'clock under the case holder raising it up about .050". Works perfectly to get the correct 270 trim length without having to move the lock ring. I also use the 308 case holder to trim 260 Rem.
