I have a Zeiss Victory FL 6-24x56 and am in love with the optical quality. I was thinking about the IOR tactical scopes (6-24 range) and wanted input as to the glass comparison. Input from folks who may have looked through them. Will I be let down with the IOR.... I know that sounds snotty, not trying to be just blown away with my Zeiss victory. Thanks.

I have a IOR 6-24FFP and the glass is quite good; to my eye a bit better (crisper) than a NF5-22. But it doesn't have the "pop" of a Zeiss or S&B. But IOR isn't Hensoldt-Zeiss or S&B money either.....

You will not be let down by the optical clarity of IOR, I have an older 16x42, (14years old) and a newer 4-14x50 and both have delivered what I wanted and not only in the glass field, both sturdy tactical scopes. I believe the glass in my IOR is better than my two old NXS, which have different purposes (2.5-10x24 NXS on a MK12 and a 12-42x56 NXS on my FTR rifle. However my Hensoldt is a realm of its own, nothing I have looked through compares IMHO.

You will not be let down by IOR but it does not rise to the level of the Zeiss you own. The Zeiss is better in every area regarding the optics compare to IOR. Sharper and crispier, better light transmission, better eye box and 3D feeling. The IOR is however a fantastic scope for the buck and I really enjoy them. I like the fact that the dot in the middle is very little as that allows a better use at longer distances. You will get a bit of a tube effekt between 6-8x and that's something that Zeiss doesn't have.

I cannot comment on the IOR 6-24 but I have used the IOR 4-28X50 Recon scopes and. They are better in most every way, including optically, than S&B, USO and Hensoldt.
