Has anybody ever used a bedliner/rubberized sealant to use on the glock grip?? I would love to see/hear some ideas.

    Thanks for any advice given,

I use the stock texturing method R+D precision has on their site. Little Devcon 10110 goes a long ways and I wish I did it years ago. It will be damn sharp when it first dries, just knock it down with a file until you like it.

If you're talking about that G34 you bought to shoot comps with, be careful.

I don't know all the rules, but altering grips (stippling, texture, etc) can knock you out of certain production gun competitions from what I've heard. Do some research before you modify a frame and make sure you don't screw yourself.

    Thanks for the input Jason!

I just picked up a 17 and wanted to make it my range gun. just looking for some new ideas!

    thanks again

    Re: Glock grip tricks?

On the Glocks I've have, I file/round off the edge of the trigger guard , where it meets the grip. Those edges always mess'd with the mid part of whichever trigger finger I'm using.

IDPA Rule Book see page 20 - I think you can get away with it. It is similar 'material and construction' and offers no greater advantage than deck tape.

If you have a dremel tool and a soldering iron you can do:

Good grief! How long did it take you to do that? I see the dremel dimples but what is the soldering iron for? Same thing as the dremel as in sharpened pencil tip pushed straight into plastic?

I do my own grip treatments as well, you can use a soldering iron but if youve never done it before you can easily run a frame

    Thanks for the great ideas....

I'm curious how you "Ace" got the tree bark design on your H&K.... What sort of tip did you use?

    Thanks again for any feedback

I have a 22 and I put skateboard grip tape on mine and it works wonders and is cheap and removable if needed. You can get grip tape at any skateboard store.

Deck tape on the top of the slide is for one handed racks - no need to find the rear sight on your belt / boot / whatever - works on any part of your body with no thought or visual reference and no chance of slipping.

Stippling was done with a soldering iron. I used a dremel to smooth the backstrap, knock the finger grooves down a hint, contour the grip to remove the 4 corners feel, and high cut (relieve) under the trigger guard. If you go slow and use a little common sense about how much material you remove you will end up with something that really fits your hand and doesn't feel like a 2x4 (hint: use the textured areas on the backstrap and in between the finger grooves which you will remove as a guide for how much you can safely grind away - go easy on the 4 corners and keep checking for fit). Then use a point tip on the iron. Work an area about the size of a quarter and then move to an area on the other side of the frame as far away as you can from the last area you worked to avoid heat build up. Work in a well ventilated area. Just let the hot iron sink in under its own weight - depth will be about the thickness of a dime / quarter.

    Good luck

    Re: Glock grip tricks?

Get rid of whatever Glock you have and get one of the RTF models. I have a 17RTF2 and couldn't be happier. I was about to go with a grip reduction from Boresight Solutions on my Gen3 17 but this negated that action.
