I can't even find enough ammo or components to reload ammo to practice with the firearms I have. Getting a selector for a Glock would burn through my 9mm ammo WAAAAYY faster than I could afford.

However I am kinda curious what they were charging for the switches....I guess they were charging up to $500 each for devices that used to sell for $30-75. BATFE bought a number of them for $275 each. They figure there are thousands of them in the country.

I actually heard WGN AM-radio yesterday with this story. They said only one charge of illegal possession of an automatic firearm at his arraignment (if the news is to be believed). I would imagine more charges are forthcoming from the prosecutors. At the time, they also only had one man in custody.

There has been an uptick in safety bulletins in the last few months involving criminals with full-auto switch Glocks. Prior to recently, don’t believe I’d ever seen one used in a crime. Suddenly I’ve seen a bunch. Seems like mostly car burglary/stolen auto crews for some reason. Clearly, this guy and others like him were willing to sell to anyone and everyone.

...i remember seeing these being sold on various sites not too long ago listed as "airsoft" parts...

legalities aside, Automatic pistols arent a thing for a reason...

I can think of oh, about 110 Thousand other things to spend my money on........

I've seen videos of people shooting them. I've also heard of noobs handing fully loaded 44 magnums to their girlfriends for the first time and getting their head blown off. Maybe it's just me, but a fun switch on a Glock (particularly in the hands of a noob) doesn't seem like the best of ideas.

I have a Glock sear and I really enjoy it. It is very dangerous and not to be taken lightly. It definitely paints on a permanent grin to everyone that I let try it.

I start any shooter off with a few rounds of semi auto to evaluate their fundamentals. Coach if needed. Then load 3 rounds in the mag for a couple of bursts. If they look like they can handle it they can have a full mag. Most people are too intimidated to hold the trigger down for more than a short burst.

Unsolicited advice: destroy the sear, maintain proof of the destruction, and prepare your home, vehicle, and place of work as though you will be approached with a search warrant in the very near future.

....im assuming he has an SOT...
This. Highly doubt anyone on this forum is foolish enough to post publicly about having a sear without the parental consent form from uncle sugar allowing it.

If I owned a legal one, it would be fun to try out. I suspect that most of it's use would be either letting other people shoot it, or just bringing it out once in a while. It would burn ammo far too quickly to be used very often. A 50 round box of ammo is only about 1.5 magazines (using the 32 round magazines) worth of shooting, and that would take all of 5 seconds to burn through. But it would be fun.

A guy would come into the gun range I worked at with an Uzi. He would burn through a couple of hundred rounds in a couple of minutes and leave. I would never want one, but I have to admit, it was impressive.

I remember for the longest time I had an MP5 and stocked G18 on my bucket list. I just don't get the appeal of full autos unless it's someone's first time shooting one. Obviously I don't want them banned or even restricted for the matter, it's just I don't get it. Needless to say the MP5 and G18 didn't impress me. At least the MP5 is practical whereas the G18 was just a retardedly stupid gun to shoot even trying to squeeze off single shots. The best thing about that day was I never thought I could hate Glocks anymore than I already did. :ROFLMAO:

I remember there was a guy over at UziTalk who managed to get his Micro Uzi up to like 1,800 RPM or some ridiculous rate like that. As someone who used to be a mag loading boy when I was younger, I can say that Uzi can go fuck itself!
