Is there any where that rents out or lands out gauges? Planning on replacing a 6.5 creedmoor barrel on my howa. Have been looking, and while the $70 from Pacific tool isnt horrible.....for a one time install that is a bit much.

Does anyone have any thoughts or options?

Thanks

Here's an option as well. They carry reamers as well as Go-No Go Gauges for rent.

I bought go and no go gauges since I'm constantly swapping barrels on a Bighorn TL3 and the 6.5 Creedmoor gauges work with 6, 6.5, and 25 Creedmoor. For me it's just easier to have them on hand. I have witness marks on the action and barrels, but I still check headspace with the gauges for peace of mind

Every single time you go back to previously installed barrel?

I checked mine the first time i put
a new barrel on and never checked them again

I do, but it's more OCD than a necessity. Besides, it takes a few seconds to throw the gauges in and check. I know I can skip it, if I wanted to. After numerous barrel swaps, they've never failed to headspace correctly once I've re-installed a barrel and torqued it down.

Yeah if i had no-gos i might throw them in as well but i do the tape trick on my gos so its not quite as easy.
