I have three rifles which exhibit these traits at 100 meters…

1) An Accuracy International Dave Tooley barrel that shoots bugholes (this one performs really well out to 400 meters, I’ll be really sad when I finally shoot the worth out of it) with Cheaper than Dirt “XM80CS Bulk Ammunition” from grud knows when,

2) A Steyr AUG with one of the newer 20”, 1/7, 1/2-28 barrels that gets me 1 - inch groups using bulk Green Tips also from Cheaper Than Dirt (Sandy Hook era) with the Donut of Death reticle,

3) An AR-15 with a 20” White Oak Armament 1/8 barrel that gets me 2” groups using the above trashmunition.

Has anybody figured out what causes the stars to align and yield such results with ammunition that should be in the dumpster? :ROFLMAO:

All of my other rifles, both cheap and pricey, yield dinner plate groups with the above.

Probably a rhetorical question, but I thought I’d ask :ROFLMAO:

Not exactly trash but relatively cheap considering the use and luck. PPU .223 69 grain match. I was looking for 100 yard ammunition for the one .223w bolt, 24" Hawk Hill that Blue Mountain built. I ordered a few boxes, ended up costing 12 a box and I get on average .4-.6 5 shot groups. I lucked out on the lot number when I ordered several hundred rounds of it as the same stuff different lot number was horrible. I would never order again without testing the lot number and confirming I could get several hundred rounds of the same.

There's no rhyme or reason that I've come across. I have a DPMS 16.5" that will shoot anything into 2-3moa, but nothing under 2. Haven't even found a handload that would do under 1moa.

Lots of them will do 1-2moa with junk ammo, and then you find a random one that will do 5moa, but will do .5moa with a hand load.

I have given up on accuracy in ARs unless it's a white oak upper. They seem to consistently be better than average for a real reasonable cost.

An acquaintance had this 24” AR Stoner (MidwayUSA budget bin) bull barrel that worked extremely well with plinker loads using Hornady cannelured bulk 55gr FMJs, the ones in 8000 count stapled boxes and exposed lead butts…

Green with envy, I bought one, $99 on sale…

What a disaster.

Not worth the trouble of wiping the anti - seize off the receiver :ROFLMAO:

Never look a gift horse in the mouth.
When the stars align, don't question it , just enjoy it.
