Are there any lodges that'll allow me to leave whenever I like to go shoot on acres of land?

I'd like to be able to leave the place I'm staying at any time, and to shoot as many as possible. Also, anywhere that rents gear like spotting scopes would be appreciated. Thanks!

good luck finding a place to do that, mostly a safety issue.

looking forward to seeing picks.

Re: Going to TX soon to hunt piggies, Help?

Well now Mr Adician,
I happen to have a place on acres of land that you may leave at any time you like. It has lots of wild hogs that you can shoot as many as possible. I even have a spotting scope that I could rent ya. How many days will you be staying? Are you bring guests, or coming alone?I can have someone pick you up at the airport if you like.
Will that be credit card or cash?

Seriously?

Re: Going to TX soon to hunt piggies, Help?

Misguided Child, if you're serious, please contact me at JeremypopeATymail.com. I'm interested in four to seven days total. I don't want any guides, I don't want any other hunters staying with me and my guest, and I'd rather not have any limits on hogs.

Pretty much, I'm looking to rent some private land with a house I can use and hogs around that I can shoot any time of the day without any limit, or any interaction from other hunters.

Thanks!

I don't want some penned up hogs, nor some guide, nor restrictions on when or how many I hunt, or anything of that nature.

Re: Going to TX soon to hunt piggies, Help?

The lodge

The blinds. Of which there are five.

The lodge sleeps 8, full kitchen and bath, satellite T.V.
Its free range property with lots of wildlife.
It has 5 8'x8' heated blinds, four of which have feeders stationed within two-hundred yards.
Two nights, three days on a hogs only hunt starts at $2500.00
A custom package can be discussed if your still interested.

Re: Going to TX soon to hunt piggies, Help?

I'm just interested in being able to shoot whenever I want.

I recently went gopher hunting for around 3g here in North Carolina, and all I got to do was hike up the side of a mountain to shoot at a gopher once before it started raining. It wasn't that big a deal, but I was told it's illegal to shoot at night on their property.

I got two gophers, one at 300 and one at 450 yards over THREE DAYS. It was not satisfactory, so I figure I'd help de-boar Texas a little.

Re: Going to TX soon to hunt piggies, Help?

If hogs are problem and do damage why you guys charge for the favor,Hell for $2500.00 I would just put that toward a lease I could go in with a few you guys I want No Limit and I want to go at least 4 times a year LMK if anyone wants to do such ,

Re: Going to TX soon to hunt piggies, Help?

This place was built to be utilized as a hunting lodge. After annual taxes, diesel fuel, tractor maintenance, seed, feed and on and on and, it takes around 60k per year just to keep the gate open.

I understand its a cost to keep the doors open,But how much do the hogs cost you in damage vs the hunters that pay $2500.00 to come hog hunt ?

I may just be a poor SOB and you may stay coverd up in hog hunters for $2500 per hog hunt ?..

Re: Going to TX soon to hunt piggies, Help?

No agriculture, no livestock, minor loss to hogs. A pain to disc n mow.
Youd probably be suprised at what corporations will pay to entertain some clientel.
And for the record, its not my property. My cousin owns it, I just happen to have unlimited access.

Re: Going to TX soon to hunt piggies, Help?

I'm not disregarding you Mis-guided child, but I'm looking for something a little different.

I don't want the hogs to be sitting around some feeder while I shoot at it, I just want to find my own. I have no interest whatsoever in feeding vermin. The most I want to spend on killing hog's is the cost of the bullets.

Re: Going to TX soon to hunt piggies, Help?

Sounded like a something for nothing kinda bullshit deal this dude was looking for. I got plenty of hunting that I wouldnt charge anyone for but I wont let anyone I dont know go "at will" on any of my places. Guess thats why he has to resort to looking on a forum instead of locally. Show me the money!!!!
Im in for a good weekend hunting here misguided child. I think Im gonna put the next target shoot up in the hunting section soon. Im going to invite those who didnt make it last time first. You, Willard and Dub are invited. I just need to get a date set. Need to try to schedule it with CKA so we can blast his targets again. I aint gonna do the coyote hunt this time, just targets, beer, camp fire and food. If your Cousin wants to come with you bring him. Maybe in May.

How many acres is it and what's the price per acre? It's a nice looking facility.

You sound like a free loader....
Why would someone just let you come on their land, hunt for free, burn up their electricity and water and lay waste to their land with you "no limit" shooting? Sounds like a bad Master P rap song.

$2500 is a bargain to travel to a PRIVATE facility with a full service lodge and they let you go out and shoot at whatever you like whenever you like. It takes money to keep a large ranch open and running, at least you can help them out if they open their gates to you.

Dont be selfish

Re: Going to TX soon to hunt piggies, Help?

Right now is the best time KYShooter. Depending on the type you are looking for. Hogs down here are hunted with dogs in the brush and creek bottoms. You can also hunt early morning and night if you are looking to still hunt. Best to find a place that has feeders out and game cameras to keep track of the times they are moving and coming in to eat. The place misguided child shows pics of is in Oklahoma and the terrain is simular to here in Texas. Misguided child was just at my place 2 weeks ago for a shoot and can verify the pork is here in abundance. I can direct you to guided hunts with lodging if he cant get you squared away. Its easier to get a good hog hunt before it gets too hot here in Texas. Spring time is good. The "free loader" you mentioned obviously wouldnt be welcome down here.

Re: Going to TX soon to hunt piggies, Help?

Kyshooter,
As much as I hate to admit he's right, stacyp
is spot on.(jk Stacy)

Stacy as well has an awesome spot, to shoot and hunt
if anyone gets an opportunity to visit his place they can
expect a quality weekend.

Having recently attended Stacy's event in Crockett, tx
I am working on setting one up this summer at or very
near this ranch in Okla. The price will be very minimal
and only cover the cost of the weekend. Just up the road we
set up targets near the one mile mark if any attendees have the
gear for it.

Gimme a couple more weeks and I'll have more info.
Stacyp and Captain Kick Ass will be instructing!

Kyshooter, if you or anyone else is interested in leasing the
place, just PM me. we can work something out.

Re: Going to TX soon to hunt piggies, Help?

Im no Instructor. That would mean I claim to know more than I do. Just because my rounds hit at 1000yds dont mean I need to tell anyone how to do it with their rifle/scope. I will however volunteer for the beer guard duties. If you hurry up and post your date to have this get together, I can post mine too.

Re: Going to TX soon to hunt piggies, Help?

Damn that's hot, sunburn, flesh peeling type part of the year. But, it's your gig and I'm game so knock it out. My other project is going to take off in the next couple of weeks so I don't know if I will have time to get the second get together started until later.

Re: Going to TX soon to hunt piggies, Help?

Outstanding! If I can help with anything on either
gig, just lemme know.

Ya I realize it'd be a hot sob, but the new digs
won't be ready til then. We can always wait til fall
or a few of us can get together sooner at the lil cabin.

Hmmm... Turkey season is just a few weeks away.....
If I can put something together, would u be interested
in a spring turkey hunt?

Non res license is less than $200.00?
About April 8-11th?

Re: Going to TX soon to hunt piggies, Help?

Stacy- April 8,9,10,11th is on.
I sent CKA an invite as well.
Dub cannot make it, but myself, Willard,
another homie of mine will be there.
As well as my cousin and some other six toed okies
for sure.
This small of a group, and with everyone knowing
each other we can have free range of 2800
acres. Lotsa hogs, turkeys n coyotes. 25 stocked
ponds as well.
On the big side we could literally set steel out to a mile.
Lemme know!

Re: Going to TX soon to hunt piggies, Help?

Best time for the Porkin-Swine would probably be Feb 1 - May 1. Low hunting pressure and mild temps.

Re: Going to TX soon to hunt piggies, Help?

You smell pork? I do. Man, Gregg you didnt waste any time getting this done. I will have to see about the April dates. I should be able to make it on Saturday-Sunday but have to check on the Thursday-Friday. You are the lucky bastard without honey do's to work on. Tell me the price so I can go sell something to pay for it too. Tell Dub to change his plans too.

Re: Going to TX soon to hunt piggies, Help?

Just license fees if u wanna hunt, other than that
we just always Split up the food cost.
For instance, I'll bring big ole porter houses
and taters for a meal for everyone,
russ will do a shrimp, boil one night. The cabin
is usually stocked pretty well, so we just leave the
good leftover stuff there. I.E. Canned goods, paper
products, stuff that freezes well etc. Willard
will be everyones bitch for his part.
Anyway someone bring breakfast foods,
everyone bring there own beer or booze.
There's a small town about 12 minutes from the
cabin that has a sonic, couple of quick stops
and a liquor store!
