Anybody shooting Hornady tap training in the 75gr. I am shooting a Rock River 16" varmint 1 in 8 twist.
Thanks to all, Javy.

Suitable ammo...for a 16" Barreled RRA Varmint .223...out to 1k...
Maybe check with the guy who sold Jack the magic beans or perhaps the source where Oswald got his "magic" bullets!!
All joking aside, you have several limiting factors that are going to make your quest damn difficult for you. 1) you have a short barrel for the job you want done (which in turn gives up a good deal of velocity versus something like a 20" or longer barrel); 2) a Wylde-chambered, 1:8 twist barrel should be okay with 75-77gr pills, but not all barrels were created equally and you really want to run heavier, longer bullets than what the 75-77gr stuff will give you (like the 80gr Berger VLDs for example, etc., etc.); 3) going back to the velocity/bullet issues...you'll likely hover around 2600-2650fps with a 77gr SMK from a 16" barrel (approximation/guesstimate). You'll be sub-sonic with that load at around 800yds MAX at that velocity which is going to make 1k shots a royal PITA.
You can TRY to accomplish what you are looking to do with something like the Black Hills 77gr loads, as well as the Southwest Ammo 77gr offerings for example, but don't expect any reasonable, repeatable results at 1k with them out of your current setup.
