I applaud their effort, but I believe it's All Show type of law. It will be interesting to see the first interaction between those two. How would it work if the ATF has a Federal warrant, but goes against the perceived wording of the 2nd Amendment? Do the locals interfere with the feds and make the arrest before the federal warrant can be served, or do they make the arrest after the federal arrest but before the defendant is taken into custody, or do they get their own warrant for the arrest of the ATF agent after the fact?

I can see a police chase occurring. The local police chasing the fleeing ATF agents to the state line. Who wins? Will the ATF ram through a state police road block at the state line?

This will be fun to see how this all will be laid out.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol has about 1600 sworn personnel. Ohio also has 88 counties, each one with a sheriff's office, and every one of them has mutual aid compacts with each of its neighboring counties.

I would not be so quick to bet on the feds taking it.

Local and State LE feasts on DOJ grants and money. The National Guard, HUD, DOT, DOE ect all work the same way. They have all the various "state and local" agencies financially dependent on them. First threat of cutting off this money and they will sit on their hands like good little puppets.

Fun Fact, Over 85% of the National Guard funding comes from the Federal Government. Less than 10% comes from the actual state it represents. NG is a Federal Asset with the illusion of state control.

Even better, say Texas did it. Not to crap on Ohio, but most people i know in Texas/Oklahoma/Arkansas have guns outside of the major metros. Sending feds to disarm Texans would be tough mission. I would rather attack China as a USMC infantryman.

LE is not going to stand up for the 2a rights of the people. If they would than you would never hear about gun charges for legal items in other states in CA, NY, NJ, CN, etc.

All those cops every day are out the job they were hired to by the state. New laws pass expect every LE agency to fall in line and do as they are told. When their salary, pension, and healthcare plans are on the line don’t expect them to just give all that up for your 2a rights. And let’s say that 5% refuses. There is still 95% right behind them willing to do it.

LE is still the enforcer with the gov gun to make you comply with state/fed legislatures and governors. Don’t forget it.

I know there is no LE bashing allowed on here but I don’t think anything I said would constitute as bashing as there isn’t much opinion written above.

To be fair, 3 of the 4 states you mentioned and many others had sheriffs go very public with their refusal to enforce gun laws. There has also been mass non compliance with registration and turning in of guns and banned guns and accessories in many states including NY, WA, CT, CO, VA and many more.
Not trying to pick a fight like so many threads here turn into, just trying to inform. Just start searching the web, I just scratched the surface of the pushback by LE of new gun laws passed. Thousands of sheriffs said go to hell to their state legislators all over the country.
