See here: Louisiana Precision Rifles, Inc.

They are located in Haughton, which I don't know if you'd consider NE or not, but you won't find better quality/service!

If you live in Louisiana, you are very fortunate to have one of the very best in the business in your area. William Roscoe is the man you want to call as already mentioned above. On top of the fact that he will build you a super quality rifle, he will treat you like family.

Re: Good gunsmiths in Louisiana?

About three years ago, I swing by this gun shop near my house when I was living in Shreveport LA, called Clarks Customs Guns. Maybe you have heard of them? Jim Clark, Kay Clark (Married to Jim Miculek), a slew of national/world titles/records, etc. They sorta know what they are doing.

I am just getting into centerfire bolt rifle and wondered if they could clean up my Bass Pro special 308 Rem 700. The lady at the counter calls out, "Hey Jim, can you come here a second?"

Jim Clark walks out, wipes his hands on his shop apron and tells me "Sorry, we dont work on the 700. But, let me write down a number, this guy's name is Will Roscoe...he does pretty good work."

So I call him, swing by, and while I stand there and watch, he throws a new take-off barrel on my rifle. For free.

Nuff said.

OK. I'm finally sold. If Jim Clark sends work to Roscoe, that's plenty good for me.
I wondered, since they're both in Houghton, but haven't visited with Jinmmy since I was in town in March.
