I have an Ambush Rifle made by Daniel Defense in 300 blackout. I am looking for a decent scope mount for it to mount my 30mm Vortex for some hunting and some paper punching to see what it can do. Just checking to see what you would recommend for $100 or less? One piece or two? Etc...
I really like the TPS TSR rings but I wasn't sure if they would be as good as a one piece since they will have to be high enough for the charging handle and all.

The height has nothing to do with the charging handle. All of the offset mounts seem to be more centered on clearing BUIS and IMO are too high.

Badger makes 1.26ish rings that I find is a good height. TPS has a similar product, and one a tick lower at 1.18 or something. The only issue is if you go that low, 1.18, you'll have trouble with scope caps.

IMO I know you asked about rings <$100 but I would recommend saving an extra $50-75 and getting a one-piece mount like the ADM Scout mount. They usually have an almost perfect height for an AR.

I just mentioned the charging handle cause I had an extra set of rings that I used just to be able to mount the scope and it mounted it so low that it was difficult to get to the charging handle without bumping the scope. The scope was really close to it.
I'm thinking one piece but all the ones that seem to be recommended are around $200 and I don't think the wife and kids would go for that for Father's Day even though I think I'm worth it....Hehe.

Only choice for me us sphur. Unfortunately I bet the hardware is more then that!! You should be able to pick up an AI mount or maybe a badger ord. Mount used on here. They are both some what simple but could easily handle deployment!!

I use the TPS TSR (Med. Steel I think) on my AR's and am very happy with them. If I'm going with a one piece detachable, then I
use the M&A flat top scope mount available at Brownells. Very solid and well machined. They always seem to align very well. They
hold zero, and they're not expensive.

I have a Freedom Reaper sitting around. If you're interested, I'll work something out. I think they retail about $110 or so. Shoot me a message. Only reason I'm letting go is I had to downgrade my my viper 2.5-10 FFP to a wearer tactical (1").

A little over your price but it is 3 mounts in one. I'm left handed so you can't see the red dot on the other side but the RAMP is a well thought out mount.

At the $100 price point, the Burris PEPR quick releases mounts work extremely well. If you don't need quick release, you can save about $20 on the standard mount. I use mine on an AR10 with no issues.

18 answers and no one has mentioned that picking a mount has a lot to do with the dimensions of the scope, eye relief needed and cheek weld/shooting position. Without know these three things you are pissing up a rope and will only get uneducated answers! GH

Yeah, I guess I wasn't thinking about the fact that almost all of the mounts mentioned come in multiple ring sizes, are mostly standard height, and is going on a rifle which, I'm guessing because of a charging handle, has a rail allowing for adjusting the eye relief regardless of the scope used.

You need a cantilevered one piece mount for proper eye relief on an AR-15, unless you have a monolithic upper with a full length top rail.
For quick release, Bobro or Wilson Combat.
For light weight, Aero Precision.
For strength, Aadland.

Amazing... All these people that own Bobro, Spuhr, ADM, Larue, Badger, etc and we're all just lucky I guess... Or maybe we understand the platform design being used and that almost every scope with a decent one-piece mount is adjustable to the users eye relief, and already built around the tube width for getting a proper height. Of course you're going to come back with some shit about how different everyone is blah, blah, blah... but you fail to realize that some of us give the OP the benefit of the doubt that they would already be aware of such things. Love how you sign your own post as if you think you're famous in your own mind. Keep trollin my friend...

i own LaRue, Bobro, ADM, RRA and the Burris PEPR mounts. All cantilever mounts. I usually agree with cheap and good is an oxymoron. But not in the case of the Burris PEPR. It is a good inexpensive mount and fits the op's budget. My second choice would be the ADM Recon mount. I don't care for the locking system on my LaRue mounts as they mar the rails and the Bobro price outweighs their advantage over the ADM mount.

^^This.

I think the ADM is great value in the higher price range. There are no added benefits from LaRue or Bobro. My QD ADM on my .308 retains zero very well.

I also agree that the Burris PEPR is excellent value for the money and holds zero very well. I beat mine up pretty hard 3 gunning but never lost zero. However, they don't hold zero very well if you detach and reattach for any reason.

The best choice I have found in the lower price range is from Warne. I am using the Skel mount on my current 3 gun rifle. Not only do they offer a "return to zero" guarantee, but the quality is excellent.

I am looking for an offset 1" scope mount for my AR15. I need the mount to measure 1.5" from the top of the rail to the center of the scope tube to give me the correct cheek weld. I also need the rail clamp to stop at the rear end of the scope ring so the power adjustment ring will not bind on the mounting ring. You can see in my picture that I had to turn the Nikon P-SERIES split mount around because of the power ring was to close to it. The mount is also 1.375" which is to low for me.

Thanks

Three AR15's and one AR10 mounting scopes from Nightforce to Vortex. PEPR "fixed" mounts on all of them. All of them are flattops (as I think most are that have scopes mounted) so question about "mounting" them to fit me or anyone else are total bullshit.

Scope height is perfect for me with both fixed and collapsible stocks. Many shooters have tried my rifles with no complaints about "scope mounting" issues. One is a one incher and the rest are 30 mm mounts. Mounts are totally rock solid and aren't going anywhere.

I'm guessing that as long as you don't have a chicken neck or a friggin' cro magnon, no-neck, you'll be just fine. I'm 6 ft and my shootin' buddy is 6'4" and the mounts fit me and him equally. Oh, I forgot to mention he has 2 AR15's and one AR10 and he also uses the PEPR mounts after he tried my rifles.
