GoPro Question...

Hello all...

Not sure where to turn with this but looking to the hide for help...

I am looking to buy a GoPro but wondering if I could stream to my phone / iPad through the GoPro app without WiFi or cellular. I am trying to use my iPhone or iPad as a viewfinder / larger screen. Can I use it as a remote of sorts?

Yes that is a normal mode for gopro, it acts as a wifi hot spot just to connect to the app.

From there you can control the camera and see the video.

great thank you. Is the quality of the video good and responsive? I am thinking of playing and hooking it up to a spotting scope

Yes it is pretty good, there is always lag, and depending on your distance to the camera from your phone and interference in the area will affect results.

I'm guessing you have a Go Pro already. These work well, I'm on the fence because we are starting to use electronic targets.

I do brave it already but I did look at the Longshot Camera and the SME one. The quality of the camera turned me off. Not to say there is anything wrong with them... really looking for the best quality I can find.

The hero 7 black is about 200-225 now that the 8 is out. The black does 60 frames a second in 4k

That’s what I was thinking... with a phone Skope adaptor I think it’ll be a good combo as long as I could pair the iPad and the GoPro. I ah e never used one. Just concerned I need WiFi or cell to view it on an iPad as a monitor.
