I was hunting a week ago seeing no deer when a bobcat come out 75 yrds from me. I shot it in the chest with a 142 SMK from a 260. When I was walking to go get it I was thinking of how much I wanted the skin or to mount it. But when I got there the thing was just split in half, totally ruined. I dont know if it was because I used the match king or the short range or both. It was grusome. I need to post pictures. Anyway congrats on the bobcat. they are just as hard to see or spot as deer. This one was weaving in and out of the woodline before he took the last step of his life and very hard to see. and they are small targets. Way to go!!

Bobcat ruined a hunt of mine last monday. The doe snorted and bolt on me just before clearing for the shot. Not 5 minutes later a bobcat showed up 20y to my right...
I almost shot it with the 7 SAUM but 139 SST's at 3200 fps would certainly have ruined anything I could have gained from it.
It didn't even dawn on me that the doe winded the bobcat until a friend told me that. I was kicking myself for a day about it.

I finally got a tag here in WI but no luck and season ends the end of the month.
I did have a coyote run into my back while calling on Sunday. That sure was exciting and I think it got one sore nose.

I passed on a 25 yard shot on one of those cats, while deer hunting in TN a couple of seasons ago. I caught all kinds of crap from the old hands, because a Bobcat will tear up a Turkey flock. They shoot them to help the Tukey poults make it another season. Next opportunity I get, I'm taking the shot.

i called for an hour tonight and all i came up with is a yote, nice pic and post!!! whats the cal. and make of the rifle your using again?

The rifle I had there was a POF, but i make custom uppers and used one today and got a yote myself. My buddy Mo has taken 20 yotes, 3 cats and 3 fox using my upper in the last 8 weeks. When i get the pic of the yote i'll post it up too.
