9 point with a 6.8 SPC 16" PRI barrel with barnes 85tsx 3020 fps..

Hunted this deer for a few years now,Funny I was sighting in the 6.8 for a down south hunt and this Guy with 5 buddy's walked up and I just picked up the rifle I just zeroed and put him down..!

nice deer..I have been hunting with the 6.8mm for two years now and have killed four deer with them. Last year I used the Nosler 110 Accubond but this year I loaded up the Barnes 95 GR TTSX with 28.5 RL-10X. I need to chrony mine to see what I am getting but I am sure it is not 3020 FPS. I tried to get up that high with my LWRC but starting getting pressure signs around the 29.5 mark and lost accuracy. So, I backed it to 28.5 and it seemed to close up the groups at around the .75-1 MOA area. I also tried the 110 VMAX and couldn't get them to work at all. They were 4-5 MOA - what a mess.

Great deer and the 6.8mm rolls on.

That is an awesome Alabama deer. I live around the Cullman area. What part of the state did you get him? I shot a nice 8 point on The Black Warrior WMA last Saturday. I think they are finally starting to move. Congrats on the deer....
