Took my 2nd " daughter" and her BF shooting today.
Shyla, not to be confused with Shayla, had only fired 1 round out of a rifle before, with out much success. She had a tough time getting a good sight picture with Shayla's rifle back then so I knew the challenge was to overcome this.
We spent several minutes in the teaching mode and a few dry firings. She was GTG so we loaded up the R-Bro's built 6.5x47L, had 1.75 mils wind dialed in and 3 mils up for the 595 yard shot.
She went 7 straight on the 12"x16" steel, then I missed a let up on the wind and she missed her 8th shot. I was very proud of her to say the least. She then got behind my 338Lapua, and while being slightly intimidated, she squeezed off a 300 grain MK. At 5'0" ~95#'s, the 338 LM had quite a bit more 'jump' to it than with me behind it. Even still she did the one shot one 'kill' at 595 with it!
She finished the evening shooting a G-19, a G-22, a Ruger MK1 and a suppressed AR-15. I think she's hooked.
