I finally got to shoot my new Robert Gradous Custom Surgeon .308 today. I 'went to the range with high expectations, but this rifle far exceeded them.
The pictures will do most of the talking.. but when i saw my first group i couldn't believe it, nor could the range officer. we decided it was just a fluke, so i shot a second group with almost identical results. Both targets showed sub .1moa groups. Both range officers signed the targets as witnesses. 3 round groups at 100yards Shooting Black Hills 175g
Thank you Robert for an incredible instrument!

That's kinda messed up to only show a little piece of the gun like that. Whats the rest of her look like?

Re: Gradous Surgeon .308

Congratulations on your shooting skills & your new rifle. With all of the threads on Robert Gradous rifles it appears almost common place that his rifles deliver scary small groups. I am thrilled with the rifles that Robert has built for me.

Re: Gradous Surgeon .308

They just don't get any better than Robert's rifles. He is also one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. If anyone has any questions on the performance of his rifles please do not hesitate to contact me..

Re: Gradous Surgeon .308

This thread has inspired me to start gathering the parts for a similar rifle.. Today I ordered a Surgeon 591, Surgeon DBM, sent payment for Jewell trigger on the group buy, ordered a McMillan A-5 50% OD / 25% black / 25% tan, Bartlein MTU 1:11.25 and sent PTG a dummy round to grind a reamer - Lapua Brass sized in my RCBS sizing die with a 178gr AMAX seated to just shy of AICS magazine length OAL 2.876"

In 6 months from now when I have all the parts in hand, I'll send it all over to Robert Gradous and hopefully I have a rifle as nice as yours by January 2013.

Can you please list the specs of this rifle??

Make of barrel and twist?

Re: Gradous Surgeon .308

Robert's one of the best builders out there, as your targets show. He uses the best parts, and puts himself into every rifle. And it doesn't hurt that he's a great guy to deal with. I can't recommend him enough.

no, i didnt touch it until Robert was done with it.

Re: Gradous Surgeon .308

I emailed Robert about doing his gun smithing class and supplying my own materials. I know there is a fee for both of these options, but I figured there would some sort of discount for wanting to suppy your own materials and take his class. For $2250, Im sure I can buy something awesome..

Re: Gradous Surgeon .308

Holy crap. I have never seen a tactical rifle that shoots like that. There are some guys competing in benchrest that don't do that. Color me impressed, envious, and a little flabbergasted. You should take it to a benchrest competition just to see the looks on their faces when you place. Also, good shooting.
