This page of the forums has ads for Olympus cameras at the top. The Olympus TG2 iHS is THE best ruggedized point-and-shoot camera I've used. I have the original Olympus TG1 iHS (it is waterproof to 30 ft. the TG2 is waterproof to 60 ft. Only diference.)

This camera is amazingly good in low light due to its F2 lens and it can take add-on lenses (which will not be waterproof).

I use my camera for everything but got it for backpacking, skiing, sea kayaking and hunting, all sports that need a rugged camera.

I use an Olympus Stylus. The old (few years now) outdoor version. I love it. I won't buy anything but Olympus cameras. My all time favorite for everything is my old Olympus OM-2n. My Olympus OM-10 is what I carry a lot as well. I don't worry about dropping it so much as I can find complete kits for $40 all day on CL or Fleabay.
