I'm a new member from Croatia,am still a student finishing next year. I collect firearms of ww2 vintage, shoot weekly in the smaller calibers and all in all live,breathe and sometimes dream ( mostly in Savage and AI themes
) guns.
Served in the army while it was still obligatory as designated marksman but never got any quality training out of that.
Currently am in possession of 2 rifles you might find of interest, those are the Yugo M76 Serbian made wartime production with a heavy barrel and a modified SVDS Dragunov.
I came here to learn more about western type of shooting and maybe get some ideas and techniques to get better at shooting cause i seriously have doubts in the old methodical solutions given to us while serving...
I also do hunt but for that I don't use forementioned rifles as I hate discussing morality and ethics of using mil.spec. guns on animals and I like the feeling of an old classical bolt action mauser or blaser in my hands while strolling through the woods more than the cold hard m76.
I decided to make my 1000m shot happen this year, hoping to build a nice rig to do that but my questions and ideas will pop up in another thread soon enough.
(I'd take the easy road and buy a 338 AI but... we have draconian laws here and there is currently now way in hell I'd be able to pick up that gun and successfully import it without having some serious connections up the line.)
